Derek Stepan Headshot

Stepan injured his hip in Sunday's game and is probable for Tuesday's game against Montreal, Brett Cyrgalis of the New York Post reports.

The center has a solid 42 points in 58 games this season, although he has been in a bit of a goal scoring slump, going goalless in his last 13 games. If he misses Tuesday's game, the league's highest scoring offense will be missing a key contributor, which could negatively impact Stepan's linemates Rick Nash and Jimmy Vesey.

Drew Pomeranz Headshot

Pomeranz (elbow) threw his first bullpen session of spring training Monday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Reports surfaced earlier in February that the left-hander hadn't thrown off a mound yet following an offseason stem cell injection, but it seems that Pomeranz is back on track with his throwing program. The duration of the session is unclear, as well as how much of a delay this situation caused, but things should become clearer as he continues to throw this spring.

Zach Eflin Headshot

Eflin (knee) felt good after throwing 40-45 pitches in a bullpen session Monday, Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal reports.

The right-hander sat out the past couple days due to a bout of knee soreness, but he seems to be taking strides toward being 100 percent once more. Reports also stated that Monday's session "exceeded expectations," so this knee ailment will likely not be much of an issue moving forward.

Steven Wright Headshot

Wright indicated that his shoulder felt fine after throwing his first bullpen session since last October on Monday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Boston is continuing to ease Wright back into things, as there is no need to rush the 32-year-old with the depth in their rotation. He said it "went about as well as it could've," so that is positive for the Red Sox, who are hoping the knuckleballer will serve as a swingman/long reliever next season.

Marcus Sorensen Headshot

Sorensen was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Monday.

The winger was called up on Saturday only to be a healthy scratch in both games over the weekend before being sent back down. The Sharks have five days off, so Sorenson and others were sent down with a possibility that they'll be called up again before Saturday's game in Vancouver.

Nikolay Goldobin Headshot

Goldobin was reassigned to the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL on Monday.

The winger spent two games with the big club, going pointless in both. While this move could have been made because the Sharks don't play another game until Saturday, it would be surprising if Goldobin is recalled prior to that game. He was virtually invisible in Sunday's overtime loss to Boston, with a minus-1 rating being his only recorded statistic in 7:46 of time on ice.

Max McCormick Headshot

McCormick was promoted from the minors Monday.

McCormick was last seen in the lineup Dec. 1 against the Flyers, but with a number of Senators dealing with various ailments, the 24-year-old could find himself on the ice during the team's upcoming four-game road trip. In his five NHL games this year, the winger has managed just five shots on goal, 10 hits and a lone blocked shot, but has been significantly more productive in the minors -- 16 goals and 10 helpers.

Matt Barnes Headshot

Barnes is expected to be waived by the Kings, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

This move comes as a result of the DeMarcus Cousins trade that was reported Sunday night, as the Kings will need to open a roster spot to take on the three players they're receiving from the Pelicans in the deal. Barnes has been playing 25 minutes per game in Sacramento this season, but is averaging just 7.6 points per game, which is his lowest total since the 2010-11 season. At 36 years old and after 13 seasons, Barnes is reaching the tail end of his NBA career, but he could still provide quality play and valuable veteran leadership for any team in the second half of the season.

Paul Stastny Headshot

Stastny (lower body) will play in Monday's game against Florida, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Stastny was hot before getting sidelined, notching seven points in his last six games. Now that he's back, he will return to his spot as the top-line center, and his first-line power play role, so expect his scoring to pick up right where it left off.

Lance Lynn Headshot

Lynn (elbow) threw a live bullpen session on Monday, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The 29-year-old missed all of 2016 recovering from Tommy John, and will 17 months removed from the surgery come Opening Day, giving him a good shot to regain his footing early in the season. With prospect Alex Reyes missing the upcoming season due to Tommy John surgery, the Cardinals are looking to ease Lynn back into things this spring, possibly skipping his first scheduled start, as he will be needed in their starting rotation once the season rolls around.
