Cody Reed Headshot

Cody Reed left his start Monday at Triple-A with back spasms.

Reed really struggled at the big league level, so even though there isn't any fantasy impact here, you never want to hear a guy go down with an injury. He was 0-7 with a 7.36 ERA at the big league level this season, but the recent back spasms could keep him off the mound for some time. Consider him day-to-day.

Sean Manaea Headshot

Update: Sean Manaea (back) is unsure if he can make his next start.

Manaea was diagnosed with a right rhomboid strain and by the sound of it, missing his next start would be likely. We can't rule anything out at the moment, however, because he could respond very well with treatment and such. Consider him day-to-day, but understand he is in jeopardy of missing his second start of this scoring week.

Mike Pelfrey Headshot

Mike Pelfrey (lower back) allowed a run and three hits in three innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Toledo.

Pelfrey hasn't pitched since the end of July, but he seems to be nearing a return to the Detroit rotation. However, he shouldn't even rejoin the rotation because he was absolutely terrible before getting injured. He is 4-9 with a 4.76 ERA and 1.72 WHIP on the season. Even if Detroit allows him to be a starter for them when he returns, do not let him have a spot on your fantasy roster.

Ryan Hanigan Headshot

Ryan Hanigan (left ankle) is expected to join the Red Sox when they start a road trip in Oakland on Friday.

Hanigan hasn't played for Boston in quite some time, but even so, he isn't a valuable fantasy commodity by any means. The team expects to have Hanigan back when rosters expand in September. Do not add this guy.

Jose Peraza Headshot

Jose Peraza left Monday's game after getting hit in the face with a pickoff attempt.

Los Angeles first baseman C.J. Cron missed the low pickoff attempt and Peraza's ear stopped the ball from possibly making it's way into the stands. He came out of the game and was replaced by Zack Cozart. Consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Koji Uehara Headshot

Red Sox manager John Farrell said RHP Koji Uehara (chest muscle) had another strong bullpen session.

Uehara hasn't pitched in over a month, but Boston is eagerly awaiting his return to the back end of the pen. Uehara recorded six saves this season while posting a 4.50 ERA and 1.03 WHIP as a setup man for the Red Sox this season. When he returns, he should resume setup duties and be a valuable asset for those who value holds.

Chris Tillman Headshot

Chris Tillman (right shoulder) threw on flat ground without any setbacks.

Tillman has an outstanding 15-5 record, but that 3.76 ERA isn't exactly indicative of that record. However, after landing on the disabled list following his previous start, he made through today's throwing session unscathed, undoubtedly a positive step in his rehab. He could embark on a rehab assignment this weekend if all goes well.

Jameis Winston Headshot

Buccaneers final preseason game against Redskins has been moved from Thursday night to Wednesday night due to incoming storms.

Many of the starters and roster shoe-ins won't play, so there isn't much to be said about the fantasy impact here. They will get this game in and give their guys an extra day of rest before the season starts. Jameis is poised for a big year with Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson out wide.

Daniel Nava Headshot

Daniel Nava has been traded to the Royals.

Nava has been a non-factor this season with the Angels, hitting just .235 with one home run in limited action. The switch-hitting outfielder will serve as positional depth for the Royals moving forward. He has little fantasy value to say the least.

Sean Manaea Headshot

Sean Manaea left Monday's game with a sore back.

Manaea was pitching very well, but an achy back forced him to leave this start. He allowed just one hit while striking out four Astros before exiting the contest. He was removed after a pickoff attempt in the fourth inning. Consider him day-to-day and questionable for his next start.
