Garrett Graham Headshot

Broncos placed TE Garrett Graham on injured reserve.

Graham missed most of the Broncos training camp with a shoulder injury and now that injury has cost him the rest of the year. Had the injury not cropped up, he still may not have made the roster as Virgil Green will be the top receiving tight end in Denver. Graham will now try to recover in time for next season.

Shelby Miller Headshot

Diamondbacks will start Shelby Miller Wednesday in San Francisco.

Miller hasn't started since July 6th for the Diamondbacks and has been on the DL since then. It's not all gravy as he does still have a 7.14 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 14 starts this year. He has turned it around a bit at Triple-A with a 3.91 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP in eight starts in Reno. He shouldn't be picked up as he simply hasn't proven he can do it at the MLB level this season.

Adam Jones Headshot

Adam Jones remains out the Orioles lineup Tuesday.

Tuesday will be the fourth straight game the star center fielder has missed with the hamstring injury. Monday he told reporters that it was his own choice not to be in the lineup and that is likely the case again on Tuesday. He is still being considered day-to-day and a DL stint is not in the conversation but he could yet miss Wednesday's game too. Nolan Reimold will bat ninth and play center field in his place once more.

Yulieski Gurriel Headshot

Yulieski Gurriel is out the Astros lineup Tuesday.

There is some slight hamstring tightness involved with the Cuban infielder being sat on Tuesday. He has played well in his first seven games, hitting .389 with two RBI and a run scored but Houston doesn't want to push the 32-year-old rookie. Alex Bregman will play the hot corner and Evan Gattis will DH on Tuesday against Oakland.

Steven Matz Headshot

Manager Terry Collins says the reports are there is no real structural damage in Steven Matz' shoulder.

The good news here is that there are no structural concerns with the young lefty's shoulder, however that doesn't mean it's all sunshine and roses. He was slated to start on Thursday against Miami, however with a setback arising he won't make that start and could miss all the games until next week. Jacob deGrom will take the start on Thursday instead and there remains only hope that he can pitch for New York in a week.

Kellen Moore Headshot

Cowboys placed QB Kellen Moore on injured reserve.

A broken ankle has done in the 27-year-old career backup for the 2016 season. He was number three on the depth chart until Tony Romo broke his back in the Seattle game and that bumped him up to number two, however that's all in the past now. Dallas is now down two QB's before the start of the year and will have to find someone to replace Moore on the depth chart in case rookie starter, Dak Prescott, has something arise.

David Cobb Headshot

Titans have released running back David Cobb.

The cluttered Tennessee backfield has gotten just a bit more uncluttered with this roster move. Teams have to get down to 75 men by Tuesday at 4 P.M. ET and apparently Cobb wasn't close to making the final 53-man squad as he leaves camp in the first round of cuts. Cobb, a fifth rounder a season ago out of Minnesota, carried the ball 52 times for 146 yards last year and had a bit of a rough camp with a fumble or two in preseason games. Demarco Murray and Derrick Henry are the top two options in the backfield and everyone else will simply be on call in case of injury.

Ladarius Green Headshot

Steelers place Ladarius Green on reserve physically unable to perform list.

It has been a confusing offseason for the free agent acquisition as rumors about headaches and his ankle have persisted and now have wound up sidelining him for at least six weeks. Green and the Steelers both say that the fifth-year TE's ankle is injured, though Green's agent believes it is fine while on the other hand there has been talk from both player and agent that he has recurring headaches that are so bad he considered retirement briefly. Whatever the case maybe Jesse James is now a top the depth chart at the tight end spot and Green shouldn't be drafted as he will miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season.
