Tyler Danish Headshot

The White Sox added Danish from Triple-A Charlotte as their 26th man for Friday's doubleheader.

Danish will start the second game of the twinbill. The 22-year-old boasts a 3.15 ERA in 45.2 innings over eight starts for Charlotte, but he's struck out only 23 and walked 13 there. He'll probably return to Triple-A after taking this turn.

Dylan Covey Headshot

The White Sox placed Covey on the 10-day disabled list Friday with a strained left oblique.

Covey was removed from his Tuesday outing by trainers after giving up four earned runs in 2.1 innings. The right-hander will next be eligible to pitch June 4, assuming the placement is backdated. The White Sox are calling up Tyler Danish from Triple-A Charlotte to start the second game of Friday's doubleheader.

Matt Dermody Headshot

Dermody has allowed just one run over 10 appearances and 11.1 innings since returning to Triple-A Buffalo.

Dermody's one MLB appearance this season didn't go well -- he allowed five runs on four hits, including three homers while recording just one out April 16 against Baltimore. Despite proving to be an effective minor-league reliever since 2013, the righty has failed to make a positive impression in his limited major-league service over the past two years. Dermody will likely get another crack with the Jays once a hole opens in the team's bullpen.

Conor Sheary Headshot

Sheary garnered an assist in Thursday's Game 7 victory over Ottawa.

Sheary reinsertion into the lineup couldn't have come at a better time for the Penguins as his feed to Chris Kunitz gave them an early 1-0 lead in Thursday's double overtime thriller. The 24-year-old spent the previous two contests watching from the press box in favor of Josh Archibald, but may have retaken his spot in the lineup with his Game 7 performance -- although his inclusion for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals could be tied to the healthy of Patric Hornqvist (upper body). Sheary logged his highest ice time of the season (21:44) in addition to firing off four shots on goal and dishing out a pair of hits.

Rio Ruiz Headshot

Ruiz could continue to act as the Braves' primary third baseman even after Adonis Garcia (Achilles) returns from the disabled list, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Ruiz has impressed during his brief time with Atlanta, going 8-for-25 (.320) with a home run and four RBI. He does have eight strikeouts in that time, however, but the Braves are not ignoring the fact that he has a bit of development left. The thought is that Ruiz could platoon with Garcia once he is back in commission in order to play up both of their respective strengths, which could also bolster the Braves' bench in the process. Garcia has been pretty poor relative to the other third baseman in the league, so there's certainly a good chance that Atlanta gives Ruiz an extended look to see if he's their third baseman of the future.

Tyler Naquin Headshot

Naquin received treatment on his injured back from the major-league trainers, and manager Terry Francona said he thinks the outfielder "is turning the corner and feeling better," Indians Insider reports.

Last year's third-place finisher in AL Rookie of the Year voting has had a disappointing 2017. Just seven games into the regular season, the Tribe sent the 26-year-old to Triple-A Columbus, essentially replacing him with spring's non-roster invitee Austin Jackson. Naquin was putting it together in Columbus (.396/.441/.528) before suffering a back ailment. However, even when he returns to full health, the MLB squad is unlikely to recall Naquin as they already have three left-handed bats on the roster.

J.A. Happ Headshot

Happ (elbow) threw 56 pitches (39 strikes) over three innings in his first rehab start Thursday for High-A Dunedin.

The sidelined starter allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out three in his return to the mound. More importantly, Happ came away feeling good. He's scheduled to make another one or two rehab starts before rejoining the big-league club.
12:02 pm (EST)
Troy Tulowitzki Headshot

Tulowitzki (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the DL in time for Friday's tilt with the Rangers, the Toronto Sun reports.

The oft-injured shortstop has been out since April 21, but he returns to the team as it begins a stretch of 10 straight home games. Before the injury, Tulowitzki was hitting .263/.295/.386 through 61 plate appearances in 16 games. With the 32-year-old no longer among the elite at his position, owners in daily league that have other options may want to wait a handful of games to see if Tulowitzki jumps out of the gate strong, or maybe needs some time to get back into the flow of things.
11:53 am (EST)
Josh Donaldson Headshot

Donaldson (calf) is scheduled to be activated from the DL and return to the Blue Jays lineup Friday against Texas, the Toronto Sun reports.

The third baseman has been out since April 14, but he returns as the Jays begin a 10-game home stand. Owners shouldn't think twice about plugging Donaldson back into their fantasy lineups immediately.
