Joakim Noah Headshot

Joakim Noah is doubtful for Thursday.

The big man is nursing an ankle injury that sidelined him on Wednesday and will need an MRI to find out the extent of the injury. While Noah is out, Kyle O’Quinn and Willy Hernangomez will get a boost in minutes. O’Qunn struggled as a starter on Wednesday with Noah sidelined, but Hernangomez thrived as he scored 17 points and recorded 11 rebounds. It will be interesting to see how the minutes shake out moving forward.

Daniel Straily Headshot

Marlins have acquired Dan Straily from the Reds.

The Marlins are trying to build their rotation with enough solid pieces that will allow their strong bullpen to take over and hopefully protect a lead. Straily had a nice campaign in 2016 as he pitched to a 3.76 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP to go along with a 162:73 K:BB ratio in 34 games, 31 of which came as a starter. The Marlins will also have the right-hander under contract for the next three seasons. In order to acquire the 28-year-old from the Reds, the Marlins gave up right-handed pitching prospects Luis Castillo and Austin Brice along with 20-year-old outfielder Isaiah White. Straily’s fantasy value gets a little boost as he will pitch in a bigger ballpark and gets to face some light hitting teams in the National League East, but he is still more of a target in National League only formats.

Andrew Luck Headshot

Andrew Luck underwent surgery on his troublesome shoulder following the season.

Owner Jim Irsay says Luck will be ready for the start of the season, but it's never a good sign when a quarterback has surgery on his throwing shoulder. This injury has lingered so the former first overall pick has elected to finally get this resolved. Fantasy owners need to follow Luck's progress all off-season, but this obviously knocks his fantasy value down a bit.

David West Headshot

David West suffered a non displaced fracture of his thumb on Wednesday.

The Warriors just got even smaller with the injury to West, who will be reevaluated in two weeks. West wasn’t a big fantasy performer, but he did help the Warriors in the size department. Kevon Looney could see more minutes due to the injury.

Rudy Gay Headshot

Rudy Gay appears to have suffered a torn Achilles on Wednesday.

This is just brutal news for the 30-year-old. An MRI will be taken to confirm the injury, but Gay is more than likely out for the remainder of the year. This injury will obviously have the potential to linger into next season, a contract year for the veteran. Gay is averaging 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals this season and it will be extremely difficult for fantasy owners to find that kind of production on the bench. Garrett Temple, Matt Barnes and Anthony Tolliver will all see their minutes increase with Temple possibly the biggest beneficiary.

Trevor Plouffe Headshot

Trevor Plouffe will serve as the team's primary third baseman this season.

Ryon Healy will move to first base and designated hitter, which opens up the door for Plouffe to be the everyday man at the hot corner for Oakland. Plouffe hit 12 homers last season and he's not exactly walking into a hitter-friendly ballpark. If he can stay healthy, he will justify a late round selection, but don't expect this guy to put up 30 or even 25 home runs for your fantasy team this season. It just won't happen.

Michael Gbinije Headshot

Michael Gbinije (arm) did not play Wednesday.

Gbinije sat out with a forearm issue that has actually kept him off the court for approximately two weeks. The medical team will continue to work with him to get him back on the court.

Jodie Meeks Headshot

Jodie Meeks will have an MRI on his dislocated right thumb Thursday.

Meeks dislocated his right thumb and rightfully so, he will be going for an MRI tomorrow. The results of the MRI will give us a better picture of how long Orlando could potentially be without his services.

Arron Afflalo Headshot

Arron Afflalo will start Wednesday against the Pacers.

Ty Lawson is unavailable to play, so the Kings front court is a bit thin. Expect Afflalo to get some good run in tonight's game. He's nothing more than a DFS punt play, however.

Avery Bradley Headshot

Celtics coach Brad Stevens says he could see Avery Bradley missing more time with sore Achilles.

An Achilles injury can linger if not dealt with properly from the beginning. Expect Stevens and the Celtics to be cautious with Bradley, as he is crucial to the team's long-term goals. Consider him day-to-day moving forward.
