Kevin Love received an Olympic team invite, league sources say, but opted to decline for rest after Cleveland's long playoff run.

You can never fault a player for making a long playoff run and deciding to rest. Love also had a difficult final series on the mental side of things as the media was all over him for his poor performance. He picked it up the final game and help earn Cleveland their first ever NBA title. Love is probably banged up as well so it wouldn't make much sense to unnecessarily fight through any pain.

Brett Cecil tossed a scoreless inning Saturday for Triple-A Buffalo.

He is recovering from a triceps injury and will soon be returning from the 15-day DL. Tossing a scoreless outing even in rehab a great sign for his health. Cecil is 0-5 with three blown saves and a 5.23 ERA. His 2016 season is not going well at all.

Adam Morgan is an option to pitch out the bullpen with the return of Vince Velasquez.

Morgan was a starter but has since been demoted, and for good reason. Morgan has a 6.55 ERA, 1-6 record, and a 1.60 WHIP. Morgan has yet to pitch without giving up a run so far this year but maybe he can find some success coming out of the bullpen. Morgan is actually significantly worse at home with a 7.26 ERA and 0-5 record in 6 games played compared to a 5.72 ERA and 1-1 record in 5 games played in away games. Morgan has had a couple decent games this year but his role as relief pitcher may be where he belongs.

Pistons are interested in re-signing restricted free agent center Andre Drummond to a maximum contract extension. Observers will continue to question whether Drummond, 22, is worth such an investment.

It's almost a guarantee that Drummond will receive a max deal from the Pistons. Drummond has shown significant improvement in his offensive game and proved once again, he's one of the best rebounders in the game. He averaged 16 points and almost 15 rebounds a game. However, Drummond was abysmal from the line especially i the playoffs, making just 32%. With the salary cap expanding and guys like Harrison Barnes are probable to earn max deals, Drummond would deserve it as well. But it remains to be seen if he can be a leader, or carry a team on his back. His free throw shooting may hinder his ability to ever make it through the playoffs, so the max deal concerns are viable.

Adam Warren gave up two runs on three hits and four walks and struck out three over 3 2/3 innings for Triple-A Iowa on Saturday.

Warren is not having a good year. He currently has a 4.56 ERA and his Triple-A performance left much to be desired. Warren cannot be trusted right now and will stay at the Triple-A level until he can string a couple solid games together.

Steve Cishek allowed one hit and struck out one batter over one inning in the Mariners 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Two days after taking a loss, Cishek rebounded nicely to earn his 17th save of the season. He has had a renaissance of sorts this season he has a WHIP under one, ERA under 3.00, and has struck out over a batter an inning. Though he has battled through some hiccups this season, Cishek is a solid fantasy closer.

Nate Karns allowed five hits and four earned runs while walking two and striking out three over five innings in the Mariners 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Karns was passable on Saturday for the Mariners but the result wasn’t especially inspiring for fantasy purposes. That has been the story of the season as his WHIP and ERA are both unusable, but he has 84 strikeouts in 81 innings pitched and is 6-2 on the year. He is a prime streaming candidate in most cases as he posts superior numbers at home, though that did not hold true tonight. His next scheduled start will come on Friday against Baltimore.

Mike Leake allowed nine hits and five runs (four earned) while walking two and striking out one over 3.1 innings in the Cardinals 5-4 loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

This was a rough outing from the start for Leake and he couldn’t get out of the fourth inning. The Mariners have been a surprisingly potent offense this season so this performance can be forgiven, especially when considering that he has posted seven quality starts in his past 10 chances. He will look to get back on track when he takes on the Royals on Thursday.

Aledmys Diaz went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and one run scored in the Cardinals 5-4 loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

Diaz was the only player worth noting in the Cardinals’ offense tonight as he blasted a three-run home run. He has been on a tear in his past five games as he is 7-for-17 with a two home runs, four runs scored, seven RBI. While many didn’t buy into his hot start, Diaz has managed to continue to be productive. That said, he entered tonight’s game with a .692 OPS for the month of June, so this may be a good time to sell high on him.

Danny Valencia went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and one run scored in the A’s 7-3 win over the Angels on Saturday.

Valencia got a hold of his 11th home run of the season in the first inning of tonight’s game, though he had gone nearly two weeks without one. That drought had sapped much of his productivity, as in his past 10 games he has just four runs scored and five RBI (counting tonight’s production). That said, his power makes a somewhat intriguing fantasy option but May was likely the peak of his season. He and the A’s will take on lefty Hector Santiago tomorrow, which definitely puts Valencia in play as he has a 1.254 OPS in 48 at-bats against lefties this season.
