Zach Neal Headshot

Neal had his contract selected from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Neal has produced well in a swingman role for the Sounds, posting a 3.89 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP, so he'll head up to the big leagues to replace recently injured Bobby Wahl (undisclosed). Neal could be an option for a spot start if Jesse Hahn (elbow) is unable to make his next start, otherwise he'll likely fill a long-relief role out of Oakland's bullpen.

Chad Pinder Headshot

Pinder is batting seventh and starting in left field Wednesday against the Marlins, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Pinder primarily plays across the infield, but he'll log his first career start in left field Wednesday. He does have two appearances in right field this season, so he could be picking up outfield eligibility over the summer if the Athletics continue to use him as an outfield piece every now and then.

Ryan Schimpf Headshot

Schimpf went 1-for-3 with his 11th home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

A true three-outcome hitter, Schimpf gave us a glimpse of what he brings to the table with a homer, walk and a strikeout. After 42 games, we know what kind of asset the third baseman is: power source at the expense of batting average. 11 of his 22 hits this season have been round-trippers.

Francisco Lindor Headshot

Lindor went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Reds.

With the first-inning long ball against Amir Garrett, Lindor reached double-digit home runs for the season and extended his hitting streak to nine games. Lindor's average is still a bit lower than many expected (.274) and he's not running much at all, but his power output and tallies in the counting stats have kept him among the fantasy elite at the shortstop position.

Stephen Vogt Headshot

Vogt is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Despite collecting a hit and an RBI in his return to the lineup Tuesday, Vogt will head to the bench for the fourth time in five games. It's unclear whether this is a complete changing of the guard or whether Vogt is just getting more rest while he's in a funk at the plate, but nonetheless, Josh Phegley will pick up another start behind the plate Wednesday.

Tyler Moore Headshot

Moore is starting in left field and batting seventh Wednesday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

With Christian Yelich out of the lineup due to a hip flexor injury, Marcell Ozuna will move to center field, allowing Moore to fill the void in left. In his first season with the Marlins, the power-hitting righty has made just two starts while compiling a .261 average. Yelich isn't supposed to miss more than a couple days, but Moore could be in line for more playing time if things change.
