Manager Joe Girardi said the Yankees haven't discussed the possibility of optioning Michael Pineda to the minors.

While the Yankees may not be willing to option a struggling pitcher, those in fantasy leagues may cut bait. Michael Pineda has the worst ERA (6.92) of any qualified pitcher in the majors. Many point to his strong K:BB rates of the past but Pineda struggled in the second half of last year and is off to a terrible start in 2016. Even if the Yankees keep running him out there, Pineda should not be used in fantasy moving forward. Unless targeting him in DFS tournament play.

Trayce Thompson left Saturday's game with lower back soreness.

A Los Angeles outfielder was forced to leave Saturday's game due to injury. Trayce Thompson was taken out in the game due to lower back soreness. Hopefully this is a routine tweak but more will be known after the game ends. Thompson has been hitting well in May with a .283 average and six home runs for the Dodgers. He was replaced by Yasiel Puig in the lineup.

Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Saturday’s 7-2 win over the Marlins.

Francoeur is flat out on fire at the plate. Since May 19th, the veteran outfielder has gone 12-for-22 with a homer, four doubles and three RBI. He is not locked into an everyday role for the Braves right now, but he is seeing more than enough at-bats to merit a roster spot in deeper N.L. Only formats.

Aaron Blair logged 5.2 innings in Saturday’s 7-2 win over the Marlins, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five.

Blair was optioned back down to Triple-A after being knocked around for nine runs over 1.1 innings against the Pirates back on May 17th, but with the Braves in need of a starter for Saturday’s matchup with the Marlins, he was called back up to the bigs. Blair took advantage of the opportunity and came just one out away from recording his first big-league victory. The 24-year-old righty holds very little value in redraft leagues at the moment, but does have some appeal in deep keeper formats. Blair likely won himself at least one more turn in the Braves’ rotation with this effort. If so, that outing is slated to come Thursday afternoon against the Giants.

Gordon Beckham went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Saturday’s 7-2 win over the Marlins.

Beckham is quietly putting together a nice season at the plate for the lowly Braves to this point, as he is sporting a .317/.417/.488 slash line with 10 extra-base hits across 82 at-bats. During his current four-game hitting streak, the 29-year-old infielder has begun to show some additional pop, going 6-for-14 with two homers and a double. Beckham is a lineup regular for the Braves at the moment and batting in the top half of the order, so he does have decent value in N.L. Only formats given the way he is swinging the bat right now.

Wei-Yin Chen tossed five innings in Saturday’s 7-2 loss to the Braves, surrendering one run on just two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Chen came into Saturday’s outing off of one of his weaker efforts of the season this past Monday against the Rays. The 30-year-old lefty was very effective through five frames, but with the Marlins looking to potentially build on a 2-1 lead, Manager Don Mattingly decided to lift him for a pinch hitter in the top of the sixth inning. Chen has given up three runs or less in 7-of-10 starts so far this year, posting a 4.37 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 7.5 K/9 in the process. He should be viewed as a viable option in deeper mixed leagues, but does have a tough matchup awaiting opposite the Pirates on Thursday night.

Salvador Perez will undergo an MRI for a leg contusion.

Not only is the Royals catcher a key to their offense, he is durable behind the plate. Salavador Perez has played at least 138 games in each of the last three seasons. Perez had to be removed from the game on Saturday following a collision on foul popup. He collided with a teammate and had to be helped down the stairs of the dugout. Perez will get an MRI to determine the severity of the contusion to his quad. If there is too much swelling, he could require a disabled list stint. If that happened, Tony Cruz would be summoned from Triple-A Omaha. More will be known in regards to Perez, but he will not play on Sunday.

Brett Eibner was 2-for-5 with a run, double, RBI and a stolen base in the Royals 8 - 7 win over Chicago on Saturday.

Brett Eibner is a bit old at 27 to be a rookie, but he had the game winning hit on Saturday for the Royals. Eibner had a productive day with a double and his first stolen base of the season. At Triple-A, Eibner had 10 home runs with three steals in 41 games in Omaha. His average was .309 in the minors with a .948 OPS and he could see more at bats in the near future with Alex Gordon on the disabled list.

Eric Hosmer was 2-for-5 with a run, double and two RBI for the Royals in their 8 - 7 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Is it possible Eric Hosmer is having his breakout season under the radar this year? Hosmer has 26 runs, nine home runs, 29 RBI and four stolen bases with a .310/.360/.522 slash line for Kansas City. This puts him on pace for 30 home runs and 14 steals this year. His OPS is at .882 which is a career high. Hosmer is 10-for-33 against Sunday’s starter Chris Sale with a double in past match-ups.
