Have you wondered where your team would be had you acquired R.A.Dickey in your draft or auction? The knuckleballer has moved his owner into first place in my league almost single handedly. Obviusly, he is no longer available, but I just needed to vent. Some interesting possibilities this week with a pair of veterans returning, a top prospect, along with four, yes four possible targets to acquire saves. Good luck in your FA bidding on waiver moves.

Francisco Rodriguez Milwaukee- John Axford blew his fourth save Tuesday night and may be on the verge of losing the opportunity to close. K-Rod hasn't exactly been lights out, but his ERA is a full two runs lower. Manager Ron Roenicke had given Axford the vote of confidence, but giving up back to back jacks in the 9th with a one run lead can't help.
Jair Jurrjens Atlanta- With Brandon Beach on the DL, Atlanta is calling up Jurrjens from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Friday against Boston. Jurrjens was an All-Star last season but struggled out of the gate. Jurrjens didn't exactly excel in the minors, going 3-4 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.42 WHIP.
Joaquin Benoit Detroit- Tigers closer Jose Valverde injured his wrist Tuesday night warming up in the bullpen. While we don't know the full extent of the injury, Phil Coke closed things out for the save. While Coke will obviously get opportunities as matchups dictate, Benoit may in fact get more chances if Valverde misses extended time.
Roy Oswalt Texas- If Nolan Ryan says Oswalt is ready to join the Rangers this weekend, I take that as a sign. Oswalt has struggled at times in his minor league rehab, but is coming off his best outing on Sunday allowing two runs over six innings. Oswalt's return could come as early as Friday night.
Tom Wilhelmsen Seattle- We heard that Brandon League was getting the closer's job back in Seattle, but you certainly have to take note of Wilhelmsen striking out the side for his fifth save on Tuesday night. If you were waiting on this one, Wilhelmsen appears to be the safe play for now. 14 K's over 10 innings and five for five in save opps since taking over.
Jacob Turner Detroit- Is Turner ready? He certainly wasn't last season, getting lit up in three starts. The top arm in the Tigers organization, Turner has been solid in the minors with a 2.83 ERA over 11 starts. Turner is slated to start on Thursday, but could be sent down if Drew Smyly is ready to return from the DL next week.
Glen Perkins-Minnesota- Another injury to watch here as Twins closer Matt Capps has a sore shoulder. Perkins has been strong of late in a setup role with a 2.01 ERA in his last 24 outings covering 22 innings. Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire says Jared Burton could also close out games if Capps is sidelined.
