It’s only been a few days since the last Injury Report and already, there’s a full list of players joining the ranks of MLB’s walking wounded. That doesn’t bode well for fantasy owners who are going to have to spend a significant amount of time sifting through the free agents on the waiver wire, looking for quality replacement candidates. Obviously, some players are lost for longer periods of time, but even the most minor of injuries needs to have your attention as you never know when something minor can grow to something major. Bumps, bruises, breaks, sprains, and setbacks, we’ve got ‘em all here. Let’s get to it…
We’re just a few days into the unofficial second half and already we’re seeing a few dings and dents. You’d like to think that time off for the All Star Break would have given these guys a chance to build up their strength and stamina, but the injury bug is a sneaky, little creature and strikes without warning. Fortunately, this early on, the damage isn’t too severe, but let’s take a look at some of the latest injuries around MLB that are affecting fantasy rosters everywhere.
All we’re trying to do is make it through the next few days alive. OK, maybe alive is a bit dramatic. How about unscathed? Little bumps and bruises and the normal wear and tear issues aren’t too much of a bother with the All Star Break coming up next week. If your player has a tweak or a minor pull, then some good, old-fashioned rest will be in order and there’s little to worry about with regard to missing games. It’s the big ones you want to avoid. You want to steer clear of the breaks and the tears. Fortunately, this week has been a little kinder to us on the injury front, but still plenty worth reporting.
