Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-5 with a double, home run (9), one RBI and three runs scored during the Cubs 6-2 win against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Don’t look now, but Rizzo is on fire. He now has three straight multi-hit games with six extra-base hits, six runs scored and three RBI. He also extended his hitting streak to eight games and has raised his average from .203 to .260 during that span. Rizzo is tied for fourth in home runs and leads the all of baseball in RBI. Even at .260, Rizzo is one of the best fantasy options in all of baseball.

Juan Nicasio allowed four runs (one earned) on eight hits while walking three and striking out three over 4.1 innings during the Pirates 6-2 loss against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Nicasio labored through his start on Wednesday, not making it out of the fifth inning and suffering the loss. Before Wednesday’s start, Nicasio posted three consecutive solid outings. He’s been a great find for the Pirates and this was just a tiny blip on the radar. His next start will come in Cincinnati so if you’re looking for a bounce back start, pitching in that ballpark is not the answer for that.

Matt Joyce went 1-for-1 with a home run (4), two RBI and one run scored during the Pirates 6-2 loss against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Not only has Joyce posted a .371 average up until this point in the season, but he’s been a phenomenal pinch-hitter thus far. He has four hits in his last five pinch-hit at-bats; two have gone for homers including Wednesday. It’s tough to find Joyce consistent time because the log jam in the Pirates outfield already. He may need to start learning a new position if he wants to play more. Until that day comes, he’s not on the field enough to be someone worth owning in fantasy.

Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-5 with a double during the Pirates 6-2 loss against the Cubs on Wednesday.

McCutchen really needed a day like this because he has really struggled to begin the 2016 season. Outside of a three home run game earlier this season, he hasn’t done much of anything. He’s striking out far too much, as it’s happened at least once in nine out of his previous 10 games. McCutchen has probably never seen his average this low, but his two hit afternoon on Wednesday could be the spark he needed. If that’s the case, whoever’s facing the team he’s on could be in a lot of trouble.

Lions signed WR Andre Caldwell to one-year deal.

There's currently a log-jam for the Lions fourth receiver slot on the depth chart, and while we are at it, we might as well add Caldwell's name to that list headed into training camp. This battle will sort itself during the summer, so fantasy owners need not to worry.

Tyson Ross (shoulder) has yet to begin his throwing program.

The Padres have said a lot about Ross without really saying much, as they seem to be talking around his lack of activity since going on the DL earlier this season. Fantasy owners should continue to plan for life without Ross, as he still has no scheduled throwing program in place.

Garrett Richards (fatigue) may have to skip his next start on Friday if his symptoms don't improve.

It is unclear what this sudden fatigue is stemming from, but regardless, the Angels trainers reportedly have him on plenty of fluids in order to return him to health. Hopefully he perks up by Friday night, but if he doesn't, the Angels plan on going with Matt Shoemaker, who is scheduled to start with the Triple-A club on Friday night.

Colts signed Curt Maggitt.

Maggitt was second team All-SEC in 2014, as he compiled 11 sacks during the campaign. He missed most of 2015 with a hip injury, which also kept him out of the Combine this past February. This caused him to fall out of the draft process, however the Colts kept close tabs on him. A very nice value pickup for Indy here, as he is a low risk, high reward player at the moment.
