We’re almost through the dog days of summer here and down to less than two months to go in the regular season. Injuries at this time of year can be brutal for a fantasy team, whether it’s for a month and the player’s season is shot or if it’s just for a week, cutting you short on production for the upcoming scoring period. There were a few notable bumps and bruises since the last Injury Report along with some news of players getting ready to return and help you down the stretch, so let’s get to it…
We’re just a few days into the unofficial second half and already we’re seeing a few dings and dents. You’d like to think that time off for the All Star Break would have given these guys a chance to build up their strength and stamina, but the injury bug is a sneaky, little creature and strikes without warning. Fortunately, this early on, the damage isn’t too severe, but let’s take a look at some of the latest injuries around MLB that are affecting fantasy rosters everywhere.
All we’re trying to do is make it through the next few days alive. OK, maybe alive is a bit dramatic. How about unscathed? Little bumps and bruises and the normal wear and tear issues aren’t too much of a bother with the All Star Break coming up next week. If your player has a tweak or a minor pull, then some good, old-fashioned rest will be in order and there’s little to worry about with regard to missing games. It’s the big ones you want to avoid. You want to steer clear of the breaks and the tears. Fortunately, this week has been a little kinder to us on the injury front, but still plenty worth reporting.
