Dee Gordon Headshot

Dee Gordon (suspension) will rejoin the Marlins on Thursday.

Gordon's serving the final couple of days before his suspension's lifted on Thursday and will likely slide back into the leadoff spot for the Marlins. He's gone 7-for-27 (.259) over seven minor league games with Triple-A New Orleans but after a slow start, he's hit safely in each of his last five games. Gordon has the type of speed to make a huge impact over the last couple of months of the season, especially in roto leagues. This should be obvious, but if he's still available anywhere, it's past the time to pick him back up.

Chris Bosh Headshot

Chris Bosh and the Heat do not appear to have solved their disagreement just yet. Bosh’s use of blood thinners could keep him off the court into 2016-17 and beyond.

If he stops taking them, he should be able to play. It's unlikely that he'll be able to play a contact sport while on them, though, as this can potentially be a huge issue. It's very possible Bosh takes this issue to the NBA player's union if he and the Heat can't come to some sort of an agreement. Bosh still has plenty left in the tank and it'd be a shame to see him forced into an early retirement due to health problems. Stay tuned.

Jordy Nelson Headshot

Packers remain optimistic about Jordy Nelson's (knee) health.

All offseason, it's been hyped that Nelson has looked great. The Packers placed him on the active/PUP list yesterday, meaning he still hasn't been cleared to practice, although he can be activated whenever the Packers want so it's conceivable that it may only be a few days spent on it. Nelson, 31, is coming off an ACL tear in his right knee that he suffered during last preseason but should be ready to rock for the start of the season and could be in line for a huge comeback year with Aaron Rodgers at the helm.

Joey Bosa Headshot

Chargers GM is not sure if third overall pick Joey Bosa will show up to camp.

Bosa and the Chargers are having problems over offset language in the contract and the structure of his bonus money. He is one of three first-rounders that remain unsigned and it seems likely that he and the Chargers will come to an agreement relatively soon or by early training camp at the latest. When he signs, Bosa is expected to start opposite Corey Liuget and be an explosive playmaker as a rookie.

Nate Solder Headshot

Patriots OT Nate Solder (calf) returned to action this week after suffering a calf injury during a spring workout and missing organized team activities and minicamp.

This is a nice development as the Patriots blind side tackle has returned to action. Thankfully, Solder seems to be fully recovered after suffering a torn bicep in Week 5 last season versus the Cowboys and should be ready to rock once the season starts.

Damarious Randall Headshot

Packers CB Damarious Randall has the makeup of a shutdown cover corner in the eyes of the Packers.

Coming off a strong rookie season, the second-year CB will look to improve on a sensational rookie year and be even better than he was. The Packers needed help on the defensive end and the 2015 first-round pick was and will be certainly up to the task. It'll be interesting to see if he can develop into the 'shutdown' corner the Packers seem to feel he may be, but it's definitely possible. As of right now, there are only a handful of 'shutdown' corners in the league.

Homer Bailey Headshot

Homer Bailey (elbow) may rejoin the Reds on Tuesday.

It appears Bailey's rehab assignment has been concluded. He threw Monday night, getting his pitch count all the way up to 98 pitches. The results weren't necessarily encouraging, as he allowed two runs on five hits and four walks over 4 1/3 innings, but he should be back and ready to join the Reds big league rotation. Bailey hasn't pitched in the majors since April of 2015, but seems set to make a start at some point during the series with the Padres this weekend.

Lorenzo Cain Headshot

Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) will begin a rehab stint with Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

After missing about a month, it appears a return is imminent. Cain is expected to get a handful of at-bats with Triple-A Omaha and barring any setbacks, he should be back in Kansas City by the weekend. When he returns, it'll be to a .290/.336/.416 slash line with 8 HR, 39 RBI and 6 steals over 307 plate appearances.

Melvin Upton Headshot

Melvin Upton Jr. was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday.

The Padres are expected to receive a Class A level prospect back from the Jays as well as paying a significant part of the $16.45 million that he's owed. It's a nice move for Toronto as it gives them some flexibility, most importantly, allowing oft-injured Jose Bautista to get a ton of time at DH and putting Upton in RF. Upton was having a resurgent season in San Diego, hitting .256/.304/.439 with 16 home runs, 45 RBI, and 20 steals and his counting numbers may only improve in Toronto because of the lineup around him.
