Given the length of the baseball season and the fact that most of these guys play an average of six games per week, it’s no wonder that the MLB injury report is constantly being added to and made to look like a gigantic laundry list of players and ailments. Fantasy baseball owners have to put in a tireless effort to stay on top of all the latest bumps and bruises, working their lineups around some of the more serious injuries while making all of the necessary tweaks to accommodate the routine dings and dents that can keep a guy on the bench for the day. No one said winning your fantasy league was going to be easy, but in an effort to help you along, here’s what’s going down at the MLB infirmary…
Personally, I just think that players are getting weaker. Everyday more and more injuries and nagging injuries are coming up across the league and it is getting to the point where before long, I'll have to list each and every major league player on the injury report. What's worse for fantasy leaguers is that one of the few remaining healthy third basemen is now down for the count leaving the thinnest position practically barren. With that, let's go around the league and catch up on who is hurt, who is injured and who is out.
Some high impact fantasy players are recovering nicely from previous injuries while some other big names are struggling. The Cardinals seemed to have avoided another disaster while the Red Sox are pleased with the progress of their newly acquired slugger. The Los Angeles Angels maybe in the market for a bat while they await their slugger to return. Other promising free agent signings are battling injury and age questions in this installment of the injury updates.
