Joe Ross has been confirmed as Monday's starter against the Mets.

The Nationals will go with Joe Ross tomorrow. They will call up a pitcher, it won't be Petit starting Tuesday. Ross has a 3.11 ERA in 84 innings pitched this year. He has six wins and 70 strikeouts. Ross is having a solid season and should be in your lineups both seasonal and daily when he starts.

Manager Dave Roberts indicated Sunday that he will rest Adrian Gonzalez each of the next two days to reset mentally.

A slumping Adrian Gonzalez will get some time off to hit the reset button mentally. Gonzalez is hitting just .263/.337/.372 with six home runs and 11 doubles in 72 games this season, including just .183/.244/.268 with one home run in 22 games in June. Scott Van Slyke got the start at first base on Sunday night and could see more playing time while Gonzalez recharges.

Ervin Santana is emerging as a viable trade candidate, according to a report from the Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo.

Twins starter Ervin Santana is emerging as a viable trade candidate. The Twins, who currently sit at the bottom of the American League with a 24-51 record, are expected to be sellers in July. Santana, 33, has posted a 2-7 record and 4.64 ERA so far this season, though scouts tell Cafardo that he will still draw strong interest on the trade market. Santana is under team control through the 2018 season, and is owed at least $28 million in guaranteed money in that time.

Anthony DeSclafani delivered eight scoreless innings in Sunday’s 3-0 win over the Padres, allowing five hits and no walks while collecting five strikeouts.

After missing the first couple months of the season due to injury, DeSclafani was brilliant in his fourth start of the year Sunday afternoon. The 26-year-old righty baffled the Padres’ bats across his eight frames, scattering five singles while finding the zone with 77-of-117 pitches. DeSclafani is most definitely an option in all N.L. Only formats right now and even holds some appeal in deeper mixed leagues. He will carry an impressive 1.52 ERA into Friday evening’s matchup with the Nationals.

Luis Perdomo tossed six innings in Sunday’s 3-0 loss to the Reds, giving up three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five.

The Padres seem content to let Perdomo take his lumps in the rotation and see how he responds. The rookie right-hander was tagged for six runs over five innings by the Orioles at Camden Yards this past Tuesday, but he bounced back Sunday with a decent effort in Cincinnati. Perdomo features solid stuff, as evidenced by his 48 punchouts across 53.0 innings this year. However, he does not really hold much fantasy value just yet outside of very deep N.L. Only formats and keeper-style leagues. The 23-year-old fireballer will be back on the bump next Sunday versus the Yankees.

Tony Cingrani picked up his ninth save of the year in Sunday’s 3-0 win over the Padres, striking out one while retiring the side in order during the top of the ninth inning.

Cingrani just might be settling into the closer role for the Reds. The 26-year-old lefty gave up a run in a non-save situation this past Wednesday, but that has been his only blemish during the past few weeks. Over his last eight outings, Cingrani has nailed down all four of his save chances while giving up just one run on six hits and two walks across eight innings.

Jay Bruce went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Sunday’s 3-0 win over the Padres.

Bruce has gone just 3-for-16 with five whiffs over the past four days, but he certainly made Sunday’s one knock count, blasting a Luis Perdomo delivery into the right-field seats for his 17th roundtripper of the season. Bruce is having a very solid year with the bat overall, as he has put up a .909 OPS with 40 extra-base hits and 58 RBI across 70 games.
