Ryan Zimmerman was 1-for-2 with two runs, an RBI and a walk in the Nationals 6 - 5 loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

It has been a rough 2016 for Ryan Zimmerman. When the team is in the midst of a seven game losing streak, his struggles are only exacerbated. Zimmerman did have a productive game on Saturday scoring two runs with a hit and a walk along with an RBI. But for the month of June, Zimmerman is hitting .188 (12-for-64) with 10 runs, two home runs and nine RBI. It remains to be seen if the Nationals will try to upgrade at first base, but Zimmerman has not been able to provide the usual power he has in the past.

Wilson Ramos was 2-for-5 with an RBI in the Nationals 6 - 5 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday.

Not only did Wilson Ramos extend his personal hitting streak to nine, but he had two hits with an RBI on Saturday. During his hit streak, Ramos is 15-for-39 (.385) with four runs, two doubles, two home runs and five RBI. His 12 home runs is tied for the lead in the majors for catcher with Salvador Perez and his 41 RBI leads the position. For the season, Ramos is hitting .342/.385/.563 and his off-season LASIK surgery sure seems like it has worked. If Ramos plays on Sunday, he is 2-for-3 with a home run in prior at bats against Jimmy Nelson.

Daniel Murphy was 3-for-5 with a run scored and a triple in the Nationals 6 - 5 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday.

Despite the Nationals losing their seventh game in a row, Daniel Murphy recorded three more hits and it marked the 31st time he has had a multi-hit game this season. Murphy still leads the majors in average at .354 and his OPS of .982 leads the National League. He is on pace for 26 home runs and 104 RBI in his first year in Washington. Murphy could find success on Sunday as well as he is 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in previous at bats versus Jimmy Nelson.

Gio Gonzalez allowed six runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts over three innings in a 6 - 5 loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

It has been a Jekyll and Hyde start to the year for Gio Gonzalez. During his first seven starts, Gonzalez had an ERA of 1.86 on May 18th. But since then, he has seen his ERA balloon to its present 4.73 and his ERA in June is 7.28 over 27.2 innings pitched. It has to be difficult to understand the wear and tear a football player endures in the NFL. But Calvin Johnson contends his desire to be retired is not fueled by a lack of playoff appearances or wins or losses, he was beat up. In a recent interview, he reiterated his desire to stay retired and while fans are hopeful for a return, Johnson contends he is satisfied in retirement.

Andrew McCutchen went 2 for 4 with two home runs, four RBI and two runs scored in the Pirates 6-1 win over the Dodgers Saturday.

The veteran has gone from being a top fantasy pick, to having a very down season so far in 2016. On the year McCutchen is hitting just .241, after putting up a career average of .294 in his first six seasons in the league. His bat woke up Saturday in a big way, taking Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda deep twice. With 11 home runs and 29 RBI and only two stolen bases, he is producing stats, just not at the rate we are used to. In addition to the overall down season, he is hitting only .192 on for the month of June, which has prompted rumors that the veteran needs to be traded. On Sunday, the Pirates will face the best pitcher on the planet in Clayton Kershaw. Surprisingly, Cutch is 9 for 24 with a home run in his career against the Dodgers ace.

Jeff Locke pitched seven innings, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out three with zero walks in the Pirates 6-1 win over the Dodgers Saturday.

Coming into Saturday’s contest with the Dodgers, the veteran turned in a quality start his last time out against the Giants at home, and today’s strong showing makes two in a row. The two starts prior to that, Locke was a disaster, allowing 11 and 7 runs respectively. On the year, he is posting a 5.44 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP, to go with a 6-5 record. His next start comes against the A’s on the road July 1st. Locke has been torched on the road the tune of a 7.36 ERA and a 2-4 record.
