Starling Marte was hit in the hand with a pitch but will stay in the game.

Marte looked to be in a lot of pain after being hit on the wrist by a pitch on Friday, but it looks like he and the Pirates dodged a bullet. Marte will remain in the game for now, but swelling could cause the team to take him out of the game.  Analysis: Ben Diamond

Tony Romo has a sty in his eye, he will be reevaluated on Saturday.

Romo played through a broken back last season, so while a sty is certainly a nuisance, it shouldn't be seen as much of a concern. Romo may miss a couple of practices but should be back on the field at some point next week. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Bernard James is headed back to China to play with the Shanghai Sharks.

The 30-year old played 16 games (two starts) at center for Dallas last season, averaging 9.9 minutes, 2.8 points, and 2.4 rebounds per game. He'll go to China to play for the Shanghai Sharks, a team that he was with in 2014. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Coco Crisp will play Friday and Saturday for Triple-A Stockton.

Crisp has looked good in his rehab stint so far, homering twice in his debut on Tuesday night, while also singling and walking. If he is this far along already, expect him back with the A's in no time at all.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Corey Dickerson will have an MRI on his sore ribs.

After just coming off the DL recently, the Rockies would be devastated if they lost him for an extended period of time again. If all checks out on the MRI, expect Dickerson to be listed as day-to-day. Analysis: Dom Murtha

Nuggets have announced the signing of first-round pick Emmanuel Mudiay.

About time. In any event, Mudiay figures to make an immediate impact on the floor due to his athleticism and playmaking ability. His shot has a long way to come, but so do the Nuggets as a roster. He should be a solid bench player in most formats next season.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Dodgers optioned Zach Lee to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

With the addition of two quality arms at the deadline in Mat Latos and Alex Wood, both Zach Lee and Mike Bolsinger, who had been having a fine season in his own right, were sent down to Triple-A OKC. Expect Bolsinger back up in the bigs if anything goes wrong with any pitcher on the major league roster.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Dodgers placed Justin Turner on the 15-day disabled list with a leg infection.

Yikes! This doesn't sound good for Turner, who was experiencing his best season as a big leaguer, as he's got a .323 average, 13 home runs, and 44 RBI. He shouldn't be out any longer than the required 15 days, but it will likely be a major blow to the Dodgers current pace. Fellow ultra utility man, Alex Guerrero will take his place at third base in the meantime.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Dan Haren will likely make his Cubs debut on Wednesday.

Haren has bounced back nicely this season, pitching to a 7-7 record with a 3.42 ERA. On Wednesday (Aug 5th) Haren will take on a Pirates offense that has been scoring runs at a pretty solid clip of late, so expect a solid matchup for the veteran right-hander in his Cubs debut.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Orioles designated INF Chris Parmelee for assignment.

At a .216 batting average, Parmelee is a non-option in any fantasy league. Good luck to him on his future endeavors.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

David Carpenter is getting a second opinion on his right shoulder.

Carpenter was bad with the Yankees this season, but was finding some success with the Nats before blowing out his shoulder. His first opinion revealed no structural damage, but he is getting a second one just to make sure.  Analysis: Dom Murtha
