Bradley Beal is in the Wizards starting lineup on Friday.
Washington has adjusted their starting lineup once again this season. Bradley Beal has come in off the bench in the previous four games, but will start for the Wizards on Friday. Despite coming in off the bench, Beal has played over 27 minutes in the last four games on average. His minutes should not spike past 30, but take note that Beal will be in the Washington lineup at tip-off Friday night. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Lance Thomas (concussion) is listed as out for Friday.
Another Knicks forward is now ruled out for Friday. First Carmelo Anthony was ruled out and now Lance Thomas has been as well. Thomas is still suffering lingering issues from his concussion. He may be able to return on Sunday, but at this time, Tuesday may be a more reasonable expectation. Look for Derrick Williams to receive more playing time as a result. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Panthers listed Thomas Davis (arm) as probable for the Super Bowl.
It is apparent that Thomas Davis has a high pain threshold. After breaking his forearm during a tackle in the second quarter of the Panthers win over the Cardinals in the NFC Championship, he was able to practice all this week. Davis had 11-to-12 screws placed in his arm to allow him to play in the Super Bowl. This is a bonus to the Panther defense as Davis recorded 105 tackles this season along with 5.5 sacks and four interceptions. Although he is listed as probable, his coach Ron Rivera fully expects Davis to start. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Carmelo Anthony had an MRi on his knee which showed no damage to his knee.
With trade rumors swirling around the Knicks star, his recent rebounding surge has been a pleasant surprise. Carmelo Anthony has averaged 8.6 rebounds per game in his last 10 and 12.5 in his two games in February. But his knee soreness will keep him out of the lineup on Friday night. Anthony did have an MRI which revealed no structural damage so he should be considered day-to-day going forward. As to the rumors, Anthony has been linked to the Clippers for Blake Griffin. Time will tell about a trade and his knee feeling better. Monitor all the reports. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Austin Rivers (hand) is a game-time decision for Friday's game.
One of the NBA's hottest shooters over the last seven days will be a game-time decision for the Clippers on Friday night. Austin Rivers made 8-of-14 shots last Friday versus the Lakers and followed that up with a 5-for-6 three-point shooting performance against the Bulls. He has shot 60 percent from the floor in the last week. But he is presently a game-time decision so using him as a punt play in fantasy is a gamble Friday night. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Jets have signed Kyle Brindza to a futures deal.
After losing Nick Folk for the last month of the 2015 season, the Jets have added a former Buccaneers kicker for depth at tryouts. New York has signed Kyle Brindza to a futures deal to provide competition at training camp. Brindza did kick his way out of the Tampa Bay job missing six field goals prior to being cut in October. As long as Folk is healthy, the job should be his in 2016. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Update: Kemba Walker will play Friday.
After missing the Hornets game on Wednesday night, Kemba Walker has been active in practice. He will also play on Friday night for Charlotte which improves their back court rotation. Walker has averaged 20.2 points, five assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game this year. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Nene Hilario will not play Friday.
After coming off the bench the last two games nursing a calf injury, Nene Hilario has seen limited minutes. He will not play versus the 76ers on Friday night as a result of his sore calf. This news means Jared Dudley and Drew Gooden should see more minutes as a result for the Wizards. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Tyreke Evans will not play Saturday.
Tyreke Evans has played well this season despite missing the first 17 games following arthroscopic knee surgery. But that same knee has been experiencing soreness and Evans will miss his sixth straight game on Saturday. Evans is the third leading scorer on the Pelicans averaging 15.2 points per game in the 25 games he has been in this season. His 6.6 assists per game lead the team and he also averages 5.2 rebounds per contest. With Evans out for Saturday, look for Norris Cole and Jrue Holiday to see more minutes as a result.
