Edinson Volquez was ejected from Tuesday's game, even though he wasn't even pitching. He will start on Wednesday.

Volquez will make his scheduled start Wednesday on the road against the Cardinals. The veteran is coming off his last start against the Astros in which he got pounded for 11 earned runs, and failed to make it out of the first inning, which resulted in a 99.00 ERA. Matt Holiday, and Jhonny Peralta will be glad to see Volquez on the hill, as they both own career averages over .300 against him in a combined 50 at-bats.

Darren O'day needs a few more bullpen sessions before he returns.

O'day's rehab coming back from a hamstring injury has gone slower than expected, and he is going to need to prove himself a little more before he is given the green light to return. One of the best set up men in the game, O'Day has a 3.15 ERA, and a 1.35 WHIP in just 20 innings so far in 2016. The veteran is a solid pitcher to have in holds leagues, and is worth hanging on to in leagues that start multiple relievers as the next man up if Orioles closer Zach Britton goes down.

Vance Worley (groin) said he is ready to return to the Orioles, after pitching in a rehab game with no reported problems.

Worley has pitched in rehab so far without any setbacks, and could be back with the Orioles pitching out of the bullpen as soon as Friday. On the season, the veteran has a 2.66 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. He does not offer much coming out of the bullpen in fantasy.

Update: Jon Jay (forearm) is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.

Although no injury was originally reported after he was struck by a pitch on June 19th, a fracture in his arm was recently discovered, sending him to the DL. Jay was having a productive season at the plate, slashing .296/.345/.407 over 270 AB. Travis Jankowski will befefit most from Jay's absence, although Melvin Upton and Alex Dickerson will also see an uptick in playing time with Jay sidelined.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Tuesday that Yunel Escobar (knee) will remain sidelined until at least Friday.

Escobar is dealing with a bone bruise to his left knee. Although the hope is that he can return to action this weekend, there remains the possibility that the will be be sent to the DL if no progress with his injured knee is forthcoming.

Joe Panik felt concussion-like symptoms Monday night and Tuesday morning and will undergo more concussion tests in the upcoming days.

Christian Colon will replace Panik in the infield, and is hitting in the eighth hole against the visiting A's. Panik will have to clear the protocols before he can rejoin the lineup, and the fact that his symptom are coming up after several days without any incident will lead to a careful approach with the second baseman going forward.

Joe Panik (head) was scratched from Tuesday's game against the Athletics.

Panik has been diagnosed with concussion symptoms, and will have to undergo testing before he can be cleared to play again. He had been hit in the head 10 days ago, but had not exhibited any concussion symptoms until Monday.

Twins announced Phil Hughes needs season-ending shoulder surgery.

He has been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome, and will require surgery to remove a part of one of his ribs. He is scheduled for surgery on July 6th, and the plan is for him to be ready for spring training in 2017.

A simulated game with determine the next step for Yu Darvish as he continues to come back from an elbow injury.

The Rangers will not rush their ace back into the rotation. He is not expected to be back on the mound until after the All-Star game, as he rehab his balky elbow.
