The veteran doesn't have much need for a lot of preseason reps and there isn't any reported injury, so it looks like just a night off. He's coming off another huge year in which he nabbed 109 balls on 173 targets for 1,502 yards and a career-high 14 touchdowns. He's locked in as a WR1.
He's approaching a return to the Royals, and the move to Triple-A signifies he's close. He's on the DL for the second time this season due to a right flexor tendon strain, which he said he re-aggrevated by returning to action too soon the first time. He'll undoubtedly slot right back into the closer role in Kansas City upon his return, but has had a much worse season than his previous two, seeing his K-BB% drop from 23.1% a year ago to just 12.6% this year. His ERA hasn't been affected though, sitting at a sterling 1.60 on the season.
Since undergoing surgery two months ago to remove bone chips Duensing has been on his way back to the bigs. If this rehab stint goes well expect him to join the extremely strong O's pen.
Hernandez will start in right field for the Giants today. Pence continues to struggle with hamstring issues and will miss his second straight game.
Posey will get a scheduled day off on Saturday. Posey has been on fire with 8 hits in his last 5 games. Expect Belt to get the start at 1st and Brown to get the start at catcher.
