Chase Utley's appeal reportedly to be heard Monday.
Way to drag this out, MLB. Thanks so much. Utley will still be allowed to play until his appeal is heard, so the actual on-field impact of his "suspension" is nil. Additional reports also confirmed that the second baseman turned down a one-game suspension plea bargain to have his day in front of baseball's judicial board. Hopefully, this will all be wrapped up soon and we can all get on with our lives. The incessant complaining from those "outraged" by the events has been adequately countered by a barrage of photos and videos of other ballplayers doing the exact same thing, sometimes even worse. Let's all just agree that it is an unfortunate thing that Ruben Tejada broke his leg, but there's really no need to make a federal case out of all this. Analysis: Howard Bender
