Zach Hyman Headshot

Hyman is mired in a nine-game point drought.

Hyman continues to have great chemistry with Auston Matthews and he's becoming a go-to guy on the penalty kill for coach Mike Babcock. But like many young players, Hyman is likely struggling with the weight of a long and heavy NHL schedule. This is just Hyman's second season beyond NCAA, a league where teams play 35-40 games a season. Hyman will be solid filler in fantasy, but right now, he shouldn't be in your active lineup.

Anton Stralman Headshot

Stralman appeared in his 600th NHL game Thursday. He has played for the Lightning, Rangers, Blue Jackets and Maple Leafs.

Stralman has been a steady force on the Bolts back end this season, but points have been hard to come by. He has just one assist in his last 14 games and 15 points in 51 games. Stralman's minus-1 rating this season is his first negative tally in that category since 2010-11. His on-ice value remains high, but his fantasy value is sorely restricted.

Justin Williams Headshot

Williams scored the game-winning goal and registered four shots on net against Edmonton on Friday.

Dating back to early December, Williams has caught fire for 17 goals, 31 points and 70 shots through 36 games. Those are numbers have been fantasy gold and high-end marks. Additionally, with T.J. Oshie dealing with an upper-body injury, Williams joined the No. 1 power-play unit Friday. Williams is a universal own in all seasonal settings, and amazingly, he still carries a modest salary in daily contests.

Cam Talbot Headshot

Talbot saved23 of 25 shots during Friday's loss to Washington.

The Capitals had won 12 consecutive home games leading into Friday, and Edmonton was in a tough schedule spot playing its fourth contest of a six-game road trip. While Talbot was unable to secure the win, Friday's outing stands as another strong showing. He's emerged as a reliable fantasy asset in all settings and is posting solid No. 1 goalie numbers in seasonal leagues. It's worth noting that upcoming road dates against Nashville and St. Louis are two more tall orders.

Quinn Cook Headshot

Cook has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Mavericks, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

The 23-year-old point guard has not played in an NBA regular-season game this season, though he managed to record a 20 point, eight assist outing with the Pelicans this preseason. With the Mavericks waiving Deron Williams on Thursday and J.J. Barea (calf) out likely until sometime in early March, the team seems interested in bolstering their young backcourt options.

Ben Bentil Headshot

Bentil signed a 10-day contract with the Mavericks on Friday, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

The second-round pick was waived by the Celtics prior to the season. He subsequently headed to China before returning to the D-League in January. Bentil figures to have a hard time cracking the rotation, but the Mavericks may intend on giving him some extra run to see what he can provide.

Dmitry Orlov Headshot

Orlov collected a first-period assist during Friday's win over Edmonton.

In the midst of a breakout campaign, Orlov is providing solid cross-category production with 27 points, 93 shots, 73 blocked shots, 34 PIM, 94 hits and a plus-28 rating. Additionally, he's proven capable of climbing the depth chart and upping his offensive impact when John Carlson or Matt Niskanen have missed time. Orlov is a universal fantasy asset attached to the best team and offense in the NHL.

Tyler Anderson Headshot

Harding will take the mound in the Rockies' Cactus League opener on Saturday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports

Although he is only expected to pitch around two innings, Anderson will be looking to get off to nice start as he prepares for his second big league season. Last spring, the 27-year-old suffered an oblique injury that kept him out all the way until June, so staying healthy will be a major key in his start against the Diamondbacks. Assuming Anderson remains injury-free throughout this month, he'll have a solid chance at locking down a spot in Colorado's starting rotation to begin the year.
Yesterday 9:54 pm (EST)
Tom Wilson Headshot

Wilson scored a first-period goal during Friday's win over Edmonton.

It was just the fifth goal of the campaign for Wilson, but it's his contributions in the PIM (65) and hits (163) columns that move the fantasy needle. The 22-year-old winger is consistently being deployed in a fourth-line role, so there isn't a lot of offensive upside, but he's a potential option in deep formats including PIM and hits.

T.J. Oshie Headshot

Oshie (upper body) is doubtful for Saturday's matchup in Nashville, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

While there's no immediately known cause for Oshie's ailment, El-Bashir notes that the winger took multiple big hits against the Flyers on Wednesday, so it could just be the end result of lots of wear and tear. For the time being, Brett Connolly has taken on top line duties and Justin Williams could also see an expanded role during Oshie's absence.
