Orlando Magic PG Elfrid Payton missed the second part of practice Tuesday after fighting through a screen and injuring his hip flexor. Payton is a young promising player taken in the first round in last years NBA Draft. He averaged 10.7 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game last season.
Martin Prado and the Marlins reach a contract extension worth $40 million through 2019.Prado is hitting .305 this season for the Marlins and the 11-year veteran has shown zero signs of slowing down. He was eligible for free agency after this season but the Marlins wanted their third baseman. Good news for Prado and the Marlins who have been dealing with the loss of Jose Fernandez.
Head Coach Mike Tomlin was quoted saying "Rest assured, you're going to see Le'Veon Bell and a lot of him Sunday." This has to make fantasy owners feel good about where they drafted Bell and even though DeAngelo Williams has been great, this is Bell's backfield. Le'Veon Bell is a must-start running back Week 4 against the Chiefs.
Ramon Foster OG is experiencing a chest injury which is making him "very questionable" for the game says head coach Mike Tomlin. The Chiefs have a good front seven and a loss of Foster would impact the Steelers offense, especially their running game who gets star running back Le'Veon Bell back from suspension this week.
Steelers WR Eli Rogers is dealing with a toe injury that has him listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. This season Rogers has nine catches for 100 yards and one touchdown. Besides Antonio Brown, Rogers has the most targets among wide receivers on the Steelers. His loss would impact Ben Roethlisberger and help a Chiefs defense who just caused eight turnovers against the New York Jets.
The Tennessee Titans sign WR Jordan Leslie to their practice squad and release NT Antwaun Woods. The Titans have been struggling on offense so maybe the signing is to ignite a flame under some of the other receivers. At this time though Leslie has no fantasy impact.
It looked like Ryan hurt his thumb on his non-throwing hand in a Monday Night Football win over the Saints. It must not have been that impactful because Ryan did not miss a snap in the game but he did play the rest of the game with a glove on that left hand. Ryan said, "I took a hit on it in the game, but I'm fine," and added, "Put a glove on just to make sure I'd get a good grip afterwards. But I'm fine. I feel pretty good." He needs to be "fine" when he faces the Panthers this week.
We heard Coach Pete Carroll say that Wilson is doing "remarkably well," despite having a sprained MCL. He also expected to see his quarterback Wednesday at practice and play in Week 4 against the Jets. "We feel like he's gonna be fine," Carroll said. He may practice on Wednesday but overall, the Seahawks will take it very early on Wilson this week. Wilson should be considered a QB2 borderline QB1 this week against that tough Jets front four.
Cole signed with the Colts as a free agent on March 10, 2015. He has played in 171 career NFL games and amassed 844 tackles, 88.5 sacks, 19 passes defensed, 21 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception and seven special teams stops in his career with the Phildelphia Eagles (2005-2014) and the Indianapolis Colts (2015-16). This looks like the end of the line for Cole in Indy though, he will still earn $3 million this season but will miss out on per game roster bonuses totaling $1.015 million.
