Jon Moscot (shoulder) is listed as the probable starter for Tuesday.

We heard last week from the club that he was feeling alright but it did inspire much confidence that he'll be able to start. This has been more of a nagging injury for Moscot which all relates back to scar tissue in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. The Reds have already lost Raisel Iglesias and Anthony DeSclafani to injuries.

Chiefs release veteran linebacker Cameron Gordon.

Here is what we call a draft causality. The Chiefs loaded up in the draft and felt that Gordon was not worth holding up a roster spot. He was signed earlier this off-season for depth at the linebacker position. He is still only 24 years old, he should find another home.

Ryan Braun (undisclosed reasons) is questionable for Tuesday.

Ryan Braun is dealing with "general soreness" and it is uncertain if he will play Tuesday against the Angels. Braun is batting .400 over the last week with two doubles and six RBIs. If Braun is unable to go for today's game, Ramon Flores is the likely candidate to get the start in the Milwaukee outfield.

Danny Valencia is expected to return Friday.

Recovering from a hamstring injury, Valencia is expected to return to the Oakland roster later this week. Before suffering the injury, he was batting .294 with a .345 OBP through 51 at-bats.

Sam Freeman has been designated for assignment

A spot had to be made when Starting Pitcher Junior Guerra was called up and Freeman is the culprit. Freeman has continued to struggle at the Major League level, giving up nine walks and 11 earned runs in only 7.2 innings this season.

Cody Asche (oblique) has been swinging a bat, but has not progressed to taking batting practice yet,

Asche has been sidelined all season with an oblique injury and he is still a ways away from a return to the Phillies. Philadelphia is being extremely cautious with Asche after he suffered a set back in late March trying to return too soon.

With the White Sox scheduled to throw three left-handed starters, Chris Young is expected to get a significant number of at-bats in Boston's three-game series beginning Tuesday.

The Red Sox brought in Young this season for his exceptional hitting against left-handed pitching. He will have the chance to showcase his talents this series against Chicago as they are scheduled to throw three lefties. In 27 at-bats this season, Young has only collected five hits (four of them doubles)while striking out 10 times.

Brock Holt is not expected to be in the Red Sox lineup for a few games.

It appears that Holt could see a role on the Red Sox bench this series against the White Sox as they are slated to throw three left-handers. Holt has started this season rather well with a .268 BA and and OBP of .357.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said getting Clay Buchholz going is an improvement that we could make.

Buchholz remains winless in five starts this season and really needs to step up for a Boston staff that is plagued by injury. He has given up 31 hits and 13 walks in 27.2 innings, while only striking out 19. Farrell isn't typically one to call out his players, but the Red Sox desperately need Buchholz' 6.51 ERA to lower quickly.
