Vince Velasquez tossed five scoreless innings allowing five hits and no walks while striking out seven batters against the Diamondbacks on Monday.

In his fist start since returning from the 15-day disabled list with a biceps injury Velasquez picked up right where he left off as he tossed five scoreless innings for his sixth win. The Phillies' youngster is now sitting 6-2 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 80:22 K:BB rate through 66.2 innings, and considering his solid walk rate Velasquez makes for a solid start in all fantasy formats, especially if his strikeouts keep flowing like they have in his first season with the Phillies. He will look to keep up the pace when he takes on the Royals on Sunday.

Robbie Ray allowed four runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over six innings against the Phillies on Monday.

Ray allowed four runs in his second straight start but did manage to strike out six or more batters for the ninth time in 10 games in the Diamondbacks loss on Monday night. Now sitting 4-7 with a 4.69 ERA< 1.54 WHIP and a 100:35 K:BB rate through 86.1 innings, Ray remains a decent deep league option if in need of help in the strikeout category if nothing else while sitting on a 10.4 K/9 thus far. He will look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Giants on Sunday.
