Chris Sale Headshot

Chris Sale will not start Sunday.

Sale was a late scratch from Saturday's start after a clubhouse incident, and while it remains unclear when he will rejoin the rotation, it will not be Sunday. Jose Quintana will make his scheduled start, and several Tigers will be strong DFS plays as a result.

Dioner Navarro Headshot

Chicago backstop Dioner Navarro went 1-for-2 with an RBI double against the Tigers on Saturday.

Navarro was able to provide one of just two extra-base hits that were tallied by the White Sox on Saturday before play was suspended going into the ninth inning. The White Sox catcher was one of just five White Sox players with a hit tonight and no Chicago player put up a multi-hit game. The 32-year-old is hitting just .203 with five home runs and 25 runs batted in in 220 plate appearances for the White Sox this year and shouldn’t be fantasy relevant at all this season.

Avisail Garcia Headshot

White Sox designated hitter Avisail Garcia went 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs batted in against the Tigers on Saturday.

Garcia hit his sixth home run of the year off of Matt Boyd in the fourth inning, which gave the White Sox a 3-1 lead. Despite tonight’s dinger Garcia has been ice cold in July as he’s hit just .176 in 40 at-bats this month. The 25-year-old has hit safely in just three out of his last 11 games and has just two multi-hit games in the last month. Tomorrow he will face off against Detroit’s Anibal Sanchez, who has allowed 15 earned runs in his last 14 and a third innings pitched. It could be a big day for White Sox bats, but due to Garcia’s slump he might be one hitter to avoid for daily purposes.

Cameron Maybin Headshot

Tigers center fielder Cameron Maybin went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases against the White Sox on Saturday night.

Maybin certainly had a large impact on tonight’s game as he scored two out of the three Tigers runs and made things happen on the basepaths. After hitting .359 in May and June, Maybin has managed to hit just .258 so far in July. He does have a nice matchup tomorrow against left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana, as Maybin is hitting .369 against left-handed pitchers so far this season.

Matt Albers Headshot

Matt Albers made an emergency start for the White Sox today due to Chris Sale’s antics, and he went just two innings allowing one run (none earned) on one hit with no walks and one strikeout.

There was a rain delay between the second and third innings of tonight’s game, and Albers didn’t take the mound after the rain delay was over. He was called upon to make a spot start today in the aftermath of Chris Sale cutting up the White Sox throwback jerseys and did decently all things considered. It’s unlikely that Albers will get another start in the White Sox rotation in the near future, but with Chris Sale’s future in limbo, stranger things have happened.

Justin Upton Headshot

Tigers right fielder Justin Upton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the White Sox on Saturday.

Upton’s sixth-inning blast, his 11th home run of the year, was a crucial run for the Tigers as they were able to rally back and tie the game at three apiece in the eighth inning. The homer was Upton’s only hit of the night. The 28-year-old has had his best month of the season average-wise in July, as he’s hitting .270 with three home runs and six runs batted in. He strikes out in almost 31 percent of his plate appearances, and thus he can be streaky at the plate. He’ll be in the lineup when the game resumes tomorrow and then will face off against left-hander Jose Quintana. Upton is hitting just .229 against left-handers this season, so I wouldn’t be itching to use him in daily fantasy leagues.

Matt Boyd Headshot

Tigers pitcher Matt Boyd allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits with no walks and four strikeouts over four and a third innings pitched in a no decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Boyd allowed just one earned run on Saturday but exited with the Tigers down 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Boyd’s night was cut short partly due to the fact that there was a long rain delay between the second and third innings of Saturday’s game. The 25-year-old has allowed just two earned runs in his past three starts, and has struck out 17 batters and walked just three over that time span. He still has consistency issues to iron out, but he’s been a serviceable fantasy option in his past three times out for Detroit. His next start will come at home on Friday against the Houston Astros who are 22nd in the Major Leagues with a .722 OPS this season.

Jose Abreu Headshot

Saturday's White Sox-Tigers game has been suspended. Play will resume Sunday at 2:10 EST, with Sunday's game to follow.

The game was tied after eight innings, and will pick up in the top of the ninth. If the game goes into extra innings it could affect the lineups for Sunday's game, so you may want to avoid Tigers and White Sox for DFS Sunday.

Joe Kelly Headshot

The Red Sox are promoting Joe Kelly and sending Heath Hembree to Triple-A.

Kelly has a 1.88 ERA in 24 innings at Triple-A, and while he has struggled as a starter for the last three seasons, he could solidify Boston's shaky bullpen. Kelly could be worth a speculative add in deep AL-only leagues as a source of strikeouts and possibly holds. Kelly should at least be behind Brad Ziegler and Junichi Tazawa on the bullpen depth chart, but he could move up if he throws well and Boston suffers another injury or two.

Ben Revere Headshot

Ben Revere went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored in the Nationals 3-2 win over the Padres Saturday.

On the season, Revere owns a .216/.263/.303 line, with two home runs, 20 RBI and ten stolen bases. The speedster has never been able to get it going consistently on the season, and is hitting just .207 for the month of July.
