Brandon Crawford Headshot

Brandon Crawford (finger) will take batting practice Saturday and hopes to return to the lineup by Sunday.

Crawford has missed a few games with the finger injury, but he appears to be nearing a return to action. He's been relatively disappointing this year, having socked 21 homers last year but this year sits at just 12 through 148 games. The 80 RBI are nice, but in this season of inflated home run totals, Crawford has been left in the fantasy dust by other middle infielders.

DJ LeMahieu Headshot

DJ LeMahieu is out of the Rockies lineup on Saturday.

He won't complain too much about not having to face Clayton Kershaw. He's seen a decline in his stolen base numbers, having gone 23-26 in stolen base attempts a season ago and is only 11-18 this year, but his robust .349/.419/.499 slash line has helped made up for the lack of steals.

Carlos Gonzalez Headshot

Carlos Gonzalez is out of the Rockies lineup on Saturday.

He'll get the night off against the toughest lefty in the league, Clayton Kershaw. He's managed to stay relatively healthy this season, eclipsing the 600 plate appearance mark for the second year in a row. He should be in the lineup for Sunday's contest and face Dodgers righty Brandon McCarthy.

Terrence Magee Headshot

Seahawks have promoted RB Terrence Magee from the practice squad.

With Thomas Rawls missing practice all week and unlikely to play, as well as C.J. Prosise dealing with a broken bone in his wrist, this move simply adds some depth to the Seahawks thin running back position. Christine Michael will draw the start and see the bulk of the work against the 49ers in what looks to be a plus matchup.

Brandon McCarthy Headshot

Brandon McCarthy will start for the Dodgers on Sunday.

After The Dodgers announced that Hill will be skipped on Sunday they also announced that McCarthy will get the start. He is just one of the many Dodgers that have battled with injuries this year, but it looks like he will be ready for the playoffs.

Rich Hill Headshot

Dodgers will skip Rich Hill's next start scheduled for Sunday.

Rich Hill will be skipped on Sunday. He has. Even a great pitcher all year but injuries have continued to hold him back. The Dodgers have not announced a starter, but because of all the injuries the team has dealt with they have a lot of options.

Nick Castellanos Headshot

Nick Castellanos (hand) will play in instructional games on Monday and Wednesday.

After having what looked to be the start to a breakout year in April and May Castellanos' performance fell off a little bit. Before he could get back on track a hand injury derailed his season. Thankfully it looks like he is healthy enough to return to baseball soon.

Yangervis Solarte Headshot

Yangervis Solarte has rejoined the Padres.

The baseball community still has the Solarte family in its prayers after Solarte's wife passed away from cancer at the age of 31. It's impossible to understand how he may feel but hopefully baseball can provide a comforting place for him.

Joe Ross Headshot

Joe Ross expected to be limited to 4-5 innings Saturday.

With the Nationals on the verge of clinching they will send Joe Ross to the mound Saturday against the Pirates. Ross' return from the DL was a short 3 inning start where he gave up one run on 6 hits against the Braves. This start will once again be a short one as the Nats continue to stretch his arm out after his return from a lengthy time off with a shoulder issue.
