Gonzalez has really turned it on of late as he has now logged five multi-hit games over his last seven contests, but it hasn't helped the Rockies much the team went 2-5 over that stretch. Now slashing .298/.337/.487 with eight home runs, 18 RBI and 32 runs scored through 191 at-bats, Gonzalez remains a solid fantasy start while being slotted ahead of one of the best hitters in the game in Nolan Arenado.
After smacking 10 home runs in the month of April, Story has now hit only four home runs since, while owning a 37:5 K:BB rate over his last 105 at-bats. Although his batting average hasn't taken too much of a hit based on his recent production (.269 BA) his extremely high strikeout rate along will continue to be a problem for the Rockies' starting shortstop, but his power production should remain consistent heading into the summer months.
After allowing only two runs in in his previous two starts combined, Rusin took a step backwards on Sunday as he coughed up six runs to the Giants. Now sitting 1-3 with a 4.75 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and a 33:14 K:BB rate through 41.2 innings, Rusin will have to show more consistency when on the mound if he wants to stay in the Rockies' starting rotation long-term. He will look to get moving back in the right direction when he takes on the Padres on Friday.
