Jorge Alfaro Headshot

Phillies have recalled C Jorge Alfaro from Double-A Reading.

With the departure of Phillies longtime catcher Carlos Ruiz, the Phillies have elected to recall Jorge Alfaro from AA Reading. Alsfaro who is one of the Phillies top prospects, and was acquired as part of the trade that sent Cole Hammels to the Rangers, was brought on in what looks like will be a short stint. With Cameron Rupp as the only catcher on the 40 man roster, the Phillies need a backup in case of emergency.

Yasiel Puig Headshot

Dodgers front office is not ready to part ways with Yasiel Puig.

There hasn't been much of a trade market for Puig, as evident by the recent reports that teams are "low-balling" the Dodgers with offers. That said, there's so much talent with Puig that it makes it hard to give up on him. He'll be in Triple-A Oklahoma City until further notice but one can only hope that the time in the minors allows Puig to get his act together. Both on and off the field.

Jamaal Charles Headshot

Jamaal Charles says he's been working his tail off. He feels good physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Charles is coming off his second torn ACL so it's great to hear the veteran running back closing out camp with confidence. His health remains a question mark this season but he should have enough left in the tank to be a fantasy difference maker this year. He's a low-end RB1 with the ability to regain elite RB1 status. The potential downside to drafting Charles is the fact that its not entirely clear who the handcuff would be, Charcandrick West or Spencer Ware.

Tyler Eifert Headshot

Tyler Eifert could return sooner than expected.

It was only a few days ago that Eifert resumed jogging, so expecting him back on the field in time for the start of the regular season still remains a long shot. Eifert is one of the best tight ends in the game when healthy and should see an uptick in targets with the absence of Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu in free agency. Eifer is currently being drafted around the 7th round in 12 team leagues.
