Aaron Blair allowed one run on two hits while walking three and striking out three over six innings during Friday’s 6-1 loss against the Cubs.

In just his second major league start, Blair was very impressive navigating through a very tough lineup. He allowed just three hits but wasn’t able to go deeper in the ball game because of his three walks. Blair has impressive stuff and will stick around in the Braves rotation for the foreseeable future. Blair had some big strikeout outings in the minors and we should expect that low total to increase as the season progresses.

Matt Szczur went 1-for-1 with one home run (2), four RBI and one run during Friday’s 6-1 victory against the Braves.

After rookie Aaron Blair went six strong innings, the game was tied heading into the eighth inning. Szczur pinch hit with the bases loaded and the floodgates opened up when he blasted a grand slam 367 feet into the stands. Szczur has only had 27 at-bats this season but has been very productive when given the opportunity. Szczur isn’t fantasy relevant, however. He will continue on that path unless an injury occurs and he begins to see regular at-bats.

Jon Lester allowed one run on seven hits while walking two and striking out 10 over seven innings during Friday’s 6-1 victory against the Braves.

Lester was dominant over seven innings on Friday, tying his season-high with 10 strikeouts. Lester has been excellent for the Cubs this year. He’s started five games with the team and has registered five quality starts. Quality doesn’t seem to do it justice though, as four of his starts have gone for seven innings or more while only allowing one run in each start. Lester’s K:BB ratio is sitting at 33:7 in 34.1 innings on the year. Lester is an excellent fantasy option thanks to his strong strikeout rate and how good he’s been at shutting opposing lineups down thus far in 2016.

Ben Revere (oblique) went 0-for-2 with a walk in his second rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse Friday, April 29, while playing five innings in the outfield.

Revere lasted just two at bats this season before going down with an oblique strain, but he's made good progress and could be back in early-May. Revere will need to make it through his rehab assignment healthy, but his return shouldn't be long after that.

Rays manager Kevin Cash was ejected from Friday's game against the Blue Jays for arguing with the home plate umpire.

Starting pitcher Drew Smyly had gotten into a bit of a spat with the home plate umpire, and Kevin Cash came out to defend Smyly, leading to his ejection.

Alex Guerrero (knee) will play in games at extended spring training next week.

Guerrero has repeatedly seen his return date pushed back during rehab from a bruised knee, and it's hard to count on him being back any time soon. Still, the recent progress opens the chance for a May return.
