Al Alburquerque Headshot

Alburquerque cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old was designated for assignment on May 21 following five poor appearances out of the big-league bullpen, and it seems like those rough outings were enough to deter any suitors from plucking him off waivers. Alburquerque will now move into an organizational depth role for the Royals.

Avisail García Headshot

Garcia was removed from the lineup Tuesday due to flu-like symptoms.

No word was initially revealed as to why Garcia was scratched, but this seems like the type of ailment that would only keep him out a day or two. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. Willy Garcia will move into the outfield to fill in for him in the meantime.

Yasiel Puig Headshot

Puig is batting eighth and starting in right field Tuesday against the Cardinals, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Puig is back in action for the Dodgers after missing the last two contests due to back tightness. The 26-year-old, who is slashing .242/.320/.430 with eight homers and five stolen bases through 42 games (169 plate appearances), will face Lance Lynn in his return to the lineup.
6:14 pm (EST)
Troy Tulowitzki Headshot

Per manager John Gibbons, Tulowitzki (hamstring) is expected to return to the lineup sometime during the Blue Jays' weekend series with the Rangers, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

It's worth tempering expectations a little bit given the inaccurate nature of the Blue Jays' return dates thus far, although given how Tulo's rehab stint has gone, there's nothing that suggests that a Friday or Saturday return is out of the question. More information on this front should come forth in the coming days.
6:12 pm (EST)
Jordy Mercer Headshot

Mercer (hand) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Braves.

Mercer exited Monday's game with soreness in his hand, but doctors apparently did not find anything of note when they examined in Tuesday, so he should be able to avoid missing any further action due to the setback. Mercer will get the start at shortstop and bat eighth against Braves starter R.A. Dickey.
6:11 pm (EST)
Kolten Wong Headshot

Wong (elbow) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

This will be the second contest in a row Wong has missed after exiting a game over the weekend with elbow discomfort, though the Cardinals remain optimistic that he won't be sidelined too long. Jedd Gyorko will start at second base for the game, opening up a spot for Jhonny Peralta to draw a start at third base. Wong should be considered day-to-day until the Cardinals update his status.
6:10 pm (EST)
José Reyes Headshot

Reyes (ribs) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Reyes was scratched from Sunday's lineup for precautionary reasons due to soreness in his ribs, but he will return to action Tuesday as expected. He will man the shortstop position and hit second against Padres starter Jhoulys Chacin.
6:09 pm (EST)
Josh Donaldson Headshot

Manager John Gibbons expects Donaldson (calf) to return to the lineup sometime over the weekend against the Rangers, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Blue Jays have been fairly optimistic with most of their return dates thus far, so it's worth being a bit leery about this news. However, Donaldson did begin a rehab assignment Monday night and didn't experience a setback, so a Friday return doesn't seem to be out of the question at the moment. More details on this front should come forth as Toronto's weekend series nears.
6:07 pm (EST)
Brian Flynn Headshot

Flynn (back) is still throwing at extended spring training but is getting close to embarking on a rehab assignment, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Flynn has been sidelined since mid-February after falling through the roof of his barn, but it seems like he's finally on the verge of getting back into game action. Despite this development, he isn't guaranteed a return trip to the big leagues once he's back to full health, although more information on his return date and where he'll play should come forth once he gets into his rehab assignment.
