Sorry friends, we're going to be a little terse this time. I'm coming at you from sunny Phoenix where I'm taking in some Arizona Fall League baseball as well as speaking at the First Pitch Arizona fantasy baseball conference. I'll do my best to drop back and embellish a bit, especially with respect to my own ranking but here are the comparison rankings for the top-ten quarterbacks less Drew Brees and Cam Newton since most contests exclude the Thursday game.
Total Team Points | Ranking System | Industry Consensus | Zola |
---|---|---|---|
Russell Wilson | Russell Wilson | Andrew Luck | Andrew Luck |
Peyton Manning | Andy Dalton | Peyton Manning | Colin Kaepernick |
Andy Dalton | Peyton Manning | Tom Brady | Andy Dalton |

This will be the first weekend weather will be a factor. I am fully aware of the research that shows fantasy scoring is not a concern unless the conditions are extreme - especially high winds, but my worry is these studies were done before passing became such an integral par of the game. I suppose the way I am looking at it in DFS is until I am sure weather is not an issue in the current landscape, I'd prefer to roll with a quarterback playing in clear conditions. As such, these rankings may change but for now we'll Peyton Manning and Tom Brady a bit. Andrew Luck could also drop by Sunday.
The other concern is Tony Romo and his back. If Brandon Weeden goes, we'll exclude him and add the 11th QB to each list.
The signal-callers for which I will have the most exposure are Colin Kaepernick, Andy Dalton and yes, last week's snafu, Ryan Tannehill.
Again, I apologize for the brevity but will do my best to embellish some of my personal rankings before kickoff Sunday.
