Welcome to the next edition of the Fantasy Football Injury Report, otherwise known as the Walking Wounded.  It is hard to believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner which means your fantasy football playoffs are looming as well.  As we say here every week, you must be prepared for the worst and hope for the best when it comes to your key players in terms of injuries.  Many leagues' trade deadlines have come and gone, so if you are going to need replacements it looks like the waiver wire will have to be your best friend.  With that being said, let's take a look at the injuries which affected Week 11 games as we head into Week 12.

Adrian Peterson (RB-MIN)

In some alarming fantasy football news, reigning MVP Adrian Peterson said that his groin injury was bothering him “a lot” after the Vikings’ blowout loss to Seattle.  Peterson does lead the league with nine rushing touchdowns, but overall he hasn’t performed like the first overall draft pick should be expected to.  This is likely due to a variety of factors including the groin injury, playing for a terrible team, and the tragic death of his son which has to be affecting him in some capacity.  Peterson is expected to play next week against Green Bay, but there is cause for concern as he continues to deal with this lingering injury.

Wes Welker (WR-DEN)

The marquee matchup for Week 12 is the Broncos playing the Patriots in Wes Welker’s showdown with his former team.  Unfortunately, Welker may not be able to play thanks to a concussion he sustained in this past week’s victory against Kansas City.  He will have to pass all of the concussion tests in order to be cleared for practice and game time, so you can be sure he will be motivated to do just that.  It is possible as Darren Sproles just did that a few weeks ago.

Keenan Allen (WR-SD)

Chargers’ rookie wide receiver Keenan Allen looks like he avoided a catastrophe this past week against the Dolphins as he apparently only suffered a hyperextension of his knee.  When he was forced out of the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter, there was immediate concern for a major knee injury which could have derailed his season.  But for now it looks like he should be ok to play this coming week which is good news for fantasy GM’s.

Julius Thomas (TE-DEN)

Tight end Julius Thomas allegedly has a sprained knee and has been ruled day-to-day by coach Jack Del Rio.  The extent of his injury is unknown right now which makes his status for next week’s showdown with New England a bit unsettled.  Thomas has been one of the best fantasy tight ends all season, so it would be devastating if he missed any time.  With Wes Welker also banged up, it makes Thomas’s status even more important heading into their matchup against the Patriots.  Keep a close eye on Thomas during the week but make sure you have a viable alternative in case he cannot play.

Percy Harvin (WR-SEA)

Since we last saw Percy Harvin on a football field, he has undergone hip surgery and an emergency appendectomy.  Now just a few months later, Harvin is back as he made his debut with the Seahawks this past week.  Although he only played 16 snaps, Harvin did make one catch and also had a long kickoff return to his credit.  Seattle has a bye this coming week, so with that extra time off Harvin should be more involved in the offense by Week 13.

Emmanuel Sanders (WR-PIT)

Steelers’ wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was forced out of this week’s game against the Lions due to a right foot injury.  There is no indication yet on the severity of his injury so his status for Week 12 is still unknown.  With Antonio Brown having an All Pro season, Sanders should be able to take advantage of some favorable matchups against opposing secondaries who commit an extra defensive back to pay attention to Brown.  If Sanders is able to play next week, he is still nothing more than a WR3 or Flex option.

Terrelle Pryor (QB-OAK)

In Pryor’s absence this past week, rookie Matt McGloin led the Raiders to their first road victory of the season as they defeated Houston.  McGloin looked very impressive as he threw for three touchdowns without an interception.  This has led to speculation over who will be the starting quarterback going forward assuming Pryor’s knee has healed.  When fully healthy, Pryor can be a dynamic fantasy option with his explosive running ability.  But there has been no indication from Oakland as to who will play next week.  Chances are that McGloin is still hovering around your league’s waiver wire, so if he plays he could be a viable option for you if your starting quarterback is hurt or on a bye.

Denarius Moore (WR-OAK)

It was revealed on Monday that Raiders’ wide receiver Denarius Moore had an MRI on his shoulder but the results have not yet been disclosed.  Moore played this week against Houston and even caught a touchdown pass from Matt McGloin in his first career start.  However, Rod Streater seemed to be McGloin’s preferred target so Moore’s status in Oakland’s offense doesn’t bode well for him from a fantasy perspective.
