Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and I hope you all enjoyed a festive day filled with family, fun and football.  That was some impressive alliteration I had going there. The season is flying by as we are in the middle of Week 12 with the fantasy playoffs right around the corner.  The injuries keep piling up, but this should not come as a surprise to anyone by now.  If your league’s trade deadline still has not passed, then you must seize this opportunity to make any deals you can to bolster your roster and address whatever glaring needs you have.  So without further ado, here is the next edition of the fantasy football walking wounded.

Tony Romo (QB – DAL)

The world knew what to expect when we saw Romo on the ground after taking a hit during the Cowboys’ loss to Carolina on Thanksgiving.  It appears likely that Romo re-fractured his collarbone and will be done for the season.  This is a significant blow to fantasy owners for a variety of reasons, including losing a solid option at quarterback and diminishing the value of several skills players such as Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, and Darren McFaddenMatt Cassel will take over once again, so brace yourself for complete mediocrity from all Dallas offense players.

Marshawn Lynch (RB – SEA)

The Seahawks seem optimistic that Lynch will return this season after having sports hernia surgery.  However, realistically it's more likely that Lynch could come back in the playoffs if Seattle makes it.  For now, Thomas Rawls is the Seahawks’ starting running back and he has filled in admirably for Beast Mode.  Rawls is a RB1 option this week against Pittsburgh as he looks to build from his 200-plus yard game last week.

Devonta Freeman (RB – ATL)

The Falcons are operating as if Freeman is not going to play this week against Minnesota as he recovers from a concussion sustained a couple weeks ago.  This is a big blow to fantasy owners who have gotten elite production from a player likely drafted very late or even added from the waiver wire.  Tevin Coleman would start again, but he is a significant drop off from what we have come to expect from Freeman.  Check back in again over the weekend to make sure, but right now you should plan on being without him.

Jarvis Landry (WR – MIA)

Landry was dealing with a knee injury this week but practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday.  It is expected he will play on Sunday against the Jets which will be a heavily favorable matchup for him since Darrelle Revis is out.  Landry should see lots of targets and could put up some of his best numbers all year.

Peyton Manning (QB – DEN)

Manning is in the midst of an absence that was announced by the Bronocs where he will be out several weeks as he deals with his plantar fasciitis.  It is incredible to actually say this, but Manning can likely be dropped in most leagues since he would not be back before fantasy playoffs start.  He has performed miserably and is not a viable fantasy starter even if he does come back and play this year.

Thomas Rawls (RB – SEA)

Rawls practiced in full on Thursday and will be the Seahawks' starting running back on Sunday and going forward for the foreseeable future.  With Marshawn Lynch out for several weeks at best, Rawls emerges as Seattle’s starter and is coming off a 200-plus yard game.  He is a must start this week as Rawls has shined when given the chance to be the featured back.

Charcandrick West (RB – KC)

West did not practice on Thursday and his status for this week’s game against Buffalo is questionable at best.  He is dealing with a hamstring injury so the Chiefs may opt to ride the hot hand of Spencer Ware who exploded for 96 yards and two touchdowns last week.  Ware is a solid waiver wire pick up if he is still available and should get playing time even if West is able to take the field.

Darrelle Revis (CB – NYJ)

Revis has been ruled out for this week’s game against Miami as he recovers from a concussion sustained in last week’s loss to Houston.  This is a big development for Miami wide receivers as Jarvis Landry could be in for a huge game against the depleted Jets’ secondary.  Ryan Tannehill could also put up crooked statistics as the Jets’ pass rush has been sparse so he should have plenty of time to pick apart the secondary.

Mario Williams (DL – BUF)

The former No. 1 pick is dealing with a foot injury and likely will not play this week.  He has had an extremely disappointing season in Rex Ryan’s defense as he only has three sacks and 11 tackles.  He has been a bust in IDP leagues so there are likely much better options on the waiver wire to plug in for Williams this week.

Danny Amendola (WR – NE)

Patriots wide receivers have been going down with frequency of late with Danny Amendola added to that list.  The good news is that he did return to practice on Thursday in a limited capacity as he tried recovering from a knee injury.  His ability to increase the workouts and practice reps on Friday will go a long way in determining his status for this Sunday.  He is a solid WR3 if he does play as he fills the void of Julian Edelman, but monitor his status as late as you can before lineups lock.
