Top Value Plays Using Pts per Dollar

Every week, we look at value plays on Rosters.com.  But what we also want to do is teach you how to find those value plays on your own. Last week, we looked at the Vegas lines as a tool to help you identify them. This week, while we will look at everything, we will focus on how to use points-per-dollar against projections to identify some great plays.

Projections Using Rosters.com Scoring

In order to succeed at fantasy football, you need to watch the games.  This helps you identify talent beyond the box score.  You can see Ezekiel Elliott break tackles and know that he will do well against all defenses. The two pointers from last week were to always pick a good QB and a high-quality DST, because you can find values elsewhere.

Rosters.com gives you $20 FREE the same day for a $10 Deposit (new accounts only).

Here are some value plays in these games:

Devonta Freeman RB Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams ($10,800)

Fantasy players have been worried that the return of Tevin Coleman would hurt Devonta Freeman’s production.  With four touchdowns in the last two games and more than 55 Rosters points, the Falcons love Freeman by the goal line.  He has not had a big rushing game, but he gets the magic elixir that is the L.A. Rams.  They have given up a combined 75 points to the Saints and the Patriots, both of whom are considered passing teams, over their last two games.  Mark Ingram torched the Rams for 29.7 Rosters points in Week 12 and the three-headed monster of LeGarrette Blount, James White and Dion Lewis combined for more than 30 points in Week 13.

Kenny Britt WR Los Angeles Rams vs Atlanta Falcons ($8600)

The Falcons are sixth worst in points allowed to wide receivers per game -- 38 Rosters points per game.  With the expectation that Atlanta will score points, the Rams will need to keep up.  Many worry that with the rookie quarterback taking over, Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and Brian Quick will all have much worse numbers.  It is true for the other two, but not for Britt who has been consistent over the last four weeks with 17.9, 9.3, 16.2 and 14.7 Rosters points.  He has a touchdown in EVERY game that Goff has started.  He is a safe play with a high ceiling and only $8600.  He will be in my lineup.

Jamison Crowder WR Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles ($8300)

The Philadelphia Eagles have, once again, become a dumpster fire this year.  Their defense started off well, but has been hit with injuries and opposing teams are taking advantage of them.  There isn’t a WR who is coming into his own more than Crowder.  With seven touchdowns this season and a score in three of the last four games, he continues to be a consistent target with strong touchdown upside.  In the last four games he has been consistent with 12.4, 17.7, 12.8 and 11.7 Rosters points.  His upside is 25+ points.

Adam Thielen WR Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars ($6800)

The Jaguars are fifth best against wide receivers in the league so Thielen will likely not be heavily owned.  He is a GPP play only.  He is projected for 11 Rosters points and over the last four weeks, he has averaged 12 points per game.  He is steady and reliable, but has the upside of touchdowns.  He has 20 targets in the last two game and has become the focus of this Vikings offense with Stefon Diggs still hurting.

Antonio Gates TE San Diego Chargers at Carolina Panthers ($5200)

The Panthers stink against tight ends have allowed an AVERAGE of 15.4 Rosters points per game.  Gates needs to get touchdowns to secure his legacy and Rivers wants to help him get there.  He will be the red zone focus and the focus on third down as always.  With Gates, you always risk injury or a goose egg like in Week 12, but the price is right to take that risk especially in GPPs.

Kyle Rudolph TE Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars ($5100)

Kyle Rudolph was targeted 22 times over the last two games and 33 in the last four.  He has not had a touchdown in two weeks, yet has scored solid points by having 15 catches.  He is great in the red zone and with a defense that defends well at the goal line the Vikings will need the tight end to score.  Like him better than Gates, but if you play them both, you could load EVERY other position with guaranteed points.

Getting More Information from the Lineup Generator to Focus on These Values

It is very early to be using the Lineup Generator to put in Lineups.  Our Lineup Generator uses the information from our analysts that comes out on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  In order to get maximum value with the generator and in this case find some values, I did the following exercise.

Here is what came out of our lineup generator today for me with some minor settings like eliminating some low scoring games.
