Fields pitched a scoreless ninth inning prior to blowing the game, and should stay in contention for save chances down the line. 16 PC-13 ST (8/17/13) (CL) Committee Chia-Jen Lo (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 18 pitches thrown. Lo remains perfect since being recalled from Triple A and should remain in the chase to earn save chances for the remainder of the season. 18 PC-15 ST (8/16/13) (CL) Committee Kevin Chapman (L)--Pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief on Tuesday night retiring all four batters he faced in order. Robertson needed only 12 pitches to work through the frame, forcing one ground ball out while striking out two batters to get the job done. 12 PC-9 ST (8/20/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Picked up his ninth hold of the season in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader after forcing the only batter he faced in the seventh inning to ground out on six pitches. Romo needed only 10 pitches to work through the frame, forcing three ground ball outs to get the job done. 10 PC-7 ST (8/20/13) (SU) Santiago Casilla (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 19 pitches thrown. Casill.a continues to pitch well since returning from injury, and is clearly the candidate to take over for Sergio Romo if he falters. 19 PC-13 ST (8/20/13) (MR) Javier Lopez (L)--Was used to record the second out of the seventh inning on Sunday needing out three pitches to force the only batter he faced to fly out. This was Lopez's first appearance since Thursday, so expect to see much more of him over the next few days. 3 PC-2 ST (8/18/13) Injured-- Jeremy AffeldtSt. Louis Cardinals(CL) Elite Edward Mujica (R)–Recorded his 32nd save of the season Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing two hits on 18 pitches thrown. Mujica got himself into a jam, but was able to force one ground ball out and two fly ball outs to get himself out of trouble. 18 PC-16 ST (8/19/13) (SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Recorded the final two outs of the game on Sunday in a non-save situation allowing two walks while striking out one batter on 27 pitches thrown. Rosenthal is starting to show signs of slowing down after a lot of innings this season, so those in holds leagues will want to monitor his production over the next few weeks heading into playoffs. 27 PC-16 ST (8/18/13) (MR) Randy Choate (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Saturday allowing one hit on 10 pitches thrown. Choate continues to get the job done for the Cardinals, having recorded three scoreless relief appearances over the last four days. 10 PC-8 ST (8/17/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Recorded his 32nd save of the season Tuesday night despite allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters in the ninth inning. Soriano's struggles continue having now allowed six runs over his last three appearances, and may be in danger of losing some save chances to Tyler Clippard. 16 PC-11 ST (8/20/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)--Earned his 26th hold of the season Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Clippard has been pitching very well lately, and considering the struggles of Rafael Soriano, he may be in line to receive some save chances in the near future. 17 PC-11 ST (8/20/13) (MR) Drew Storen (R)--Earned his 16th hold of the season Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless seventh inning retiring all three batters he faced in order.
