DFS MLB Hitting Coach: September 10

There are a lot of similarly priced players I really like Saturday, especially for the late slate. The outfield is the most obvious example, but you can find players in this hitting coach at nearly every position who are pretty similar. When that happens, I usually look to the prices for individual sites to determine who I should play. For instance, Carlos Beltran and Stephen Piscotty cost nearly the same amount on FanDuel, but Piscotty costs $800 less than Beltran on DraftKings while Beltran costs $600 less than Piscotty on FantasyAces. Barring some last-minute changes, I have Piscotty in my DraftKings lineup and Beltran in one of my FantasyAces lineups. Those nuances in price could be especially important in Saturday’s slate.

Sandy Leon is 10-for-28 over his last eight games.

DFS players could have a pretty tough decision if Stephen Vogt and Bruce Maxwell both start for Oakland Saturday. Vogt has struggled lately, but he is 11-for-26 with a home run against Felix Hernandez. Maxwell has never faced Hernandez, but he is 5-for-9 over his last three games. Both are in play at a position where you almost have to save some money in the early slate, but I will probably lean towards Maxwell because he is cheaper.

The late slate is pretty ugly for catchers, which makes it even easier to simply play Buster Posey and move on. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Posey is 4-for-8 against Archie Bradley or that he is so cheap on DraftKings.

Tom Murphy is 6-for-11 with two home runs in five games this season while Nick Hundley is 6-for-13 during his five-game hitting streak. Murphy is the far better value, but both catchers would be worth playing if they start Saturday.

Jonathan Lucroy is 5-for-16 with a home run during his four-game hitting streak.

Anthony Rizzo is 9-for-24 with three home runs over his last seven games.

Edwin Encarnacion is 6-for-17 with a home run over his last four games.

Yonder Alonso is 5-for-14 against Felix Hernandez and 4-for-9 over his last two games.

Tyler Austin is 7-for-18 with two home runs over the last week.

Hanley Ramirez is 7-for-17 with two home runs during his four-game hitting streak.

Freddie Freeman is 13-for-27 against Bartolo Colon and 11-for-33 with two home runs in September.

Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez are 15-for-45 and 11-for-31 respectively against Ubaldo Jimenez. Cabrera is 8-for-23 with two home runs over the last week while Martinez is 5-for-16 with a home run during his four-game hitting streak.

Kendrys Morales is 18-for-46 with six home runs during his 11-game hitting streak and left-handed batters have a .371 wOBA against James Shields this season.

Robinson Cano is 6-for-11 with a home run against Kendall Graveman.

Dustin Pedroia is 13-for-30 in September.

Devon Travis is 11-for-26 with six RBI during his six-game hitting streak.

Joey Wendle is 5-for-13 during his four-game hitting streak.

Whit Merrifield is 6-for-14 during his five-game hitting streak and right-handed batters have a .413 wOBA against James Shields this season.

Brian Dozier has slowed a bit over his last three games, but he still has a 13-game hitting streak. With some many of the top second basemen playing in the early slate, Dozier is in play if you go cheap at other positions.

Daniel Murphy is 11-for-22 during his seven-game hitting streak.

Yulieski Gurriel is 9-for-24 with two home runs during his six-game hitting streak. He is worth considering on every site, but he is super cheap on DraftKings.

Yoan Moncada hasn’t done much at the big league level yet, but his price is low enough to make him worth the risk in the early slate.

Kyle Seager is 10-for-25 with two home runs over the last week.

Jose Ramirez is 3-for-7 with a home run and a stolen base against Hector Santiago. Ramirez is 11-for-25 during his six-game hitting streak.

Yangervis Solarte is 6-for-16 during his four-game hitting streak.

David Freese is 5-for-11 over his last three games.

Adrian Beltre is 11-for-27 with two home runs over the last week and right-handed batters have a .427 wOBA against Daniel Wright.

Troy Tulowitzki is 7-for-16 during his four-game hitting streak.

Marcus Semien is 6-for-17 with three home runs against Felix Hernandez.          

Francisco Lindor is 4-for-10 against Hector Santiago and 7-for-12 over his last three games.

Erick Aybar is 6-for-16 with a home run and a stolen base against Ubaldo Jimenez.

Corey Seager is 8-for-17 with a home run during his four game hitting streak.

George Springer is 9-for-24 with a home run and eight runs scored during his six-game hitting streak.

Chris Young is 4-for-9 with two home runs over his last three games.

Nelson Cruz and Seth Smith are 7-for-12 and 6-for-12 respectively against Kendall Graveman. Smith is 5-for-7 with two home runs over his last three games.

Jacoby Ellsbury is 18-for-31 against Chris Archer and 4-for-11 over his last three games.

Kevin Kiermaier is 4-for-8 against Masahiro Tanaka. Kiermaier has a 13-game hitting streak and he is 9-for-13 with three home runs over his last three games.

J.D. Martinez is 6-for-10 over his last three games.

Josh Reddick is 13-for-24 during his seven-game hitting streak.

Byron Buxton is 13-for-30 with five home runs since he was recalled from Triple-A and right-handed batters have a .375 wOBA against Mike Clevinger.

Curtis Granderson has homered in four consecutive games. Ride him while he is hot.

Trea Turner is 11-for-28 with three home runs during his three-game hitting streak.

Randal Grichuk is 11-for-31 with three home runs during his eight-game hitting streak. Stephen Piscotty is 9-for-22 during his seven-game hitting streak.

Hunter Pence is 8-for-14 over his last three games.

Alex Dickerson is 8-for-18 with a home run during his five-game hitting streak.
