We have a very full slate Wednesday, as the NBA prepares to take Thanksgiving off. Despite having so many games, it is tough to find too many cheap guys worth playing in Wednesday’s slate. I blame it on the relatively good health we are seeing around the league. I think the best way to go, especially in cash games, is with mostly mid-priced guys. As long as everybody contributes, and one or two players go off, you should be just fine.

Point Guard

The one position you almost have to go stars-and-scrubs is point guard. I often find myself either paying up for the studs or going super-cheap at point guard, but on Wednesday the contrast is especially stark. I think you have to pay up for at least one point guard, and try to go cheap elsewhere.

With Timofey Mozgov out, I expect Kyle Lowry to attack the rim at will. Lowry is one of the safest point guards in fantasy, as he usually racks up assists on the days he isn’t shooting well, as he did Sunday against the Clippers.

Mario Chalmers has double-digit points in five of his six games since joining the Grizzlies. The Rockets love to play fast but are less enthusiastic about getting back on defense, which bodes well for both Chalmers and starter Mike Conley. Conley scored 26 against the Rockets last week, and you could play both Memphis point guards together in 50/50 lineups.

If you absolutely need a mid-priced option, you could do worse than Mo Williams. Williams should be back after missing the last three games, and he could see increased minutes with Matthew Dellavedova a game-time decision.

Shooting Guard

Apparently all of the mid-priced options I couldn’t find at point guard are hanging out at the shooting guard position. Unless you are paying up for James Harden, which I’m not inclined to do Wednesday, your best bet is to hope one of the lesser shooting guards goes off, which they are all capable of doing.

Case in point: Avery Bradley has at least 21 points in three consecutive games. As long as Marcus Smart is out, Bradley should continue to pour in the points, especially against a weak 76ers team.

It seems dumb to highlight three Cavaliers and not mention LeBron James, but here I go anyway. J.R. Smith has at least 15 points in four straight days, and while he is due to completely disappear, I doubt that happens against a Toronto backcourt that rarely plays defense.

I tried to find somebody I wanted to spend big on at shooting guard, and the best I could do was Dwyane Wade. I don’t know that I will ever trust him for cash games, but he has scored 20 points six times this season, including twice in the last week.

The Clippers do not have any wing players who are above-average defenders outside of Lance Stephenson, and he has almost completely fallen out of their rotation. Alec Burks and Rodney Hood are both very solid players, and I would be a bit surprised if at least of them did not score 20 points in this game.

Small Forward

The Kings rank in the top five in the NBA in opponents' points, three-point attempts and steals. It wouldn’t surprise me to see any of Milwaukee’s rotation players go off in this game, but Khris Middleton gets my vote. Sacramento’s weaknesses play to his strengths, and Middleton has double-digit points in 10 of his last 11 games. If you have some more money to spend, or are looking for somebody who could go off in a GPP, Giannis Antetokounmpo has as good a chance as anybody of scoring 30.

On the other side of the ball, Rudy Gay is coming off a season-high 28 points. He has double-doubles in consecutive games, and he should get even more shots up with DeMarcus Cousins likely out. I actually prefer Gay to the similarly-priced Antetokounmpo, but you could conceivably play both in a GPP.

Jeff Green appears to have finally busted out of his shooting slump, and while I don’t trust him, I love the matchup and the playing time if Zach Randolph is out again. He is a GPP play who can save you some money.

I am a bit concerned the Thunder will blow out the Nets and Kevin Durant will only play three quarters, but he will probably score a ton of points in those three quarters. Durant scored 27 in his return Monday, and I feel completely confident getting him back in my DFS lineups.

Power Forward

I have largely stayed away from Boston for DFS this season, because they are simply too deep. The minutes, and fantasy points, have been spread around too much to rely on. That being said, the 76ers have allowed the fifth-most rebounds to opponents this season, and Jared Sullinger is in the best position to take advantage. He has four double-doubles this season, and I like his chances at getting a fifth Wednesday.

The only Toronto player I actually trust to guard anybody is DeMarre Carroll, and I have to imagine he will spend most of the game guarding LeBron. That should give Kevin Love a good shot at his third consecutive 25-point game.

Anthony Davis has managed to play more than six minutes in just three of New Orleans’ last seven games, but he is averaging 29.3 points, 16 rebounds and 3.3 blocks in those games, the most recent of which was Sunday against the Suns. I doubt the Suns are able to slow him down much in this game, either.

It sounds like Eric Bledsoe is going to play in this game, which means Markieff Morris probably won’t match the 28 points he scored Monday at San Antonio. Even so, he matches up well against New Orleans, and he is a nice value on DraftKings and FantasyFeud.

The Wizards are committed to playing small and fast this season, and thus far it has not translated into defense. They rank fourth in opponents' threes and opponents' points this season. Marvin Williams should be able to take advantage of that weakness, especially if Nicolas Batum is limited by his illness.

Center

Jahlil Okafor has been a much-improved rebounder of late, averaging 9.7 rebounds over his last nine games after averaging just 5.5 rebounds over his first six NBA games. Okafor will likely give you a double-double at a decent price, with a chance to go 20 and 10.

Dwight Howard costs an awful lot on FanDuel, but I love him on the other sites. He hasn’t played since Friday, and he is averaging 14.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks on 3-plus days of rest this season.

Rudy Gobert left Monday’s game with a tailbone contusion, and DeAndre Jordan could eat the Jazz alive on the glass if Gobert is out.

Karl-Anthony Towns was thoroughly outplayed by Jahlil Okafor Tuesday, and I expect him to bounce back in a big way. Towns has failed to score in double-digits just one other time this season, and he responded with 17 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks the next time out. I almost feel bad for the Hawks.
