Daily Fantasy Football Sleepers & Value Plays Playoff Edition

Your season long league are over, but thankfully we still have Playoff Daily League contests to fulfill our fantasy itch.

* Andy Dalton (14.6%) while Drew Brees may be an attractive option in reality, he is not on paper for his price. Dalton is facing a Chargers defense that has allowed the fifth most FP to wide receivers on the season and the Bengals are undefeated at home. From one Ginger for another Ginger put in the bank Dalton is a must own this week.

Running Back

* Frank Gore SF (9.4%) early reports have Frank Gore as probable for this weekend’s game against the Packers, which may cause many who do not follow Fantasy Alarm’s reports, to shy away from him. But as we have reported, Gore has practiced in full and with negative temperatures expected in Green Bay the 49ers may lean even more on Gore this weekend against a Packers defense that has allowed over 157 yards rushing per game since they held Gore to just 44 yards on 21 carries all the way back in week one. Do not let that poor week one performance by Gore fool you, the Packers defense is no where near as healthy as they were to start the season.

* Darren Sproles NOS (6.7%) has been a major disappointment this season, but he could be in line for a breakout game versus the Eagles as Pierre Thomas has been ruled out for Saturday’s game.

Wide Receivers

* Dwayne Bowe KC (6.7%) has frustrated fantasy owners all season long, so many may shy away from him, especially if they just look at his final stat line the last two weeks (he missed last week due to concussion like symptoms but practiced in full the last two days). Bowe caught only five passes for 46 yards two weeks ago against the Colts, but he was targeted 10 times, which is encouraging coming into this week’s matchup as the Colts defense allowed 186 yards receiving and a touchdown to the Jaguars in Week 17.

* Lance Moore NOS (5.2%) has surpassed 70 yards receiving in two of his last three games and has caught all but one of the 14 passes thrown his way in that span.

Tight End

* Vernon Davis (9%) this is no where near a value pick, unless you consider you can save over $3K by choosing VD over Jimmy Graham, (who knew choosing VD was a good thing, right). As pointed out above, the weather will be below freezing in Green Bay and Davis has caught a touchdown pass in six of his last seven games and seven of his last nine and you can see why he is worth the price.

Defense/Special Teams

* 49ers (4.4%) the Niners D finished as a top three overall defense to finish the season. Yeah Aaron Rodgers is back, but the Packers offensive line is Swiss cheese and the extreme cold weather lends itself to a lower then expected scoring game.
