Change Your Life Starting Today!
Afternoon everyone. I’m putting the Nomad in @FantasyNomad today as I’m traveling to the “D.” No not to pitch in their bullpen, although at this point even you or I might be an upgrade from the relief arms the Tigers have been using this year. Quickly, before I get right into today’s daily league recommendations I do want to point out how at least one of our readers is also using the DFS Playbook to help them in their season long leagues, too, which could benefit you as well:
Charles from Texas on a recent call in to the Fantasy Alarm Daily Show (6-7pm ET M-F on Sirius/XM Fantasy Sports Channel for those of you who have satellite radio) said that he uses the DFS Playbook to gain insight on whether he should start, sit, or stream a pitcher in his season long league that allows for daily moves. While the DFS Playbook’s main focus is on providing you with recommendations for daily fantasy site play Charles does bring up another indirect way the Playbook can be used to your advantage if you also play in season long leagues. Some of you may have already figured that out, but just in case it didn’t quite dawn on you, now you have another way to use the Playbook to your advantage elsewhere.
Thanks Charles for the kind words on how much you like the work Jeff Mans and I have been doing here and for sharing with us that insight. We appreciate the feedback and hopefully more of you will also take advantage of the comments section below, as Charles did in Tuesday’s article, and remember you can always tweet @FantasyNomad and/or @Jeff_Mans as well.
Starting Pitcher Picks of the Night
|Jeff Samardzija @Pirates||P||$8,900||$17,259||$7,700||Slight price drop after allowing more runs in his second to most recent start then he practically allowed in his 10 starts combined prior to his June 1st start. Sale is also a sexy pick as he will be favored vs Tigers for just the 2nd time in his career but will cost you $2K-plus then the Shark.|
|Kyle Lohse @Mets||P||$8,700||$16,302||$7,000||Would use Lohse in either cash or GPP games vs a Mets team that has the 4th worst team OPS vs RHP, but I would favor Lohse even more so in a GPP because I feel many will shy away from using him tonight as he is coming off his worst outing of the season.|
|Roenis Elias vs Yankees||8600||12471||1751||More of a GPP play and on DS and FD where price is discounted, would rather pay few dollars more and take the Shark on DK over Elias who|
Discounted Hitter of the Night: Kyle Seager

|Mike Napoli||C||$4,000||$6,327||$3,000||Our highest projected point getter among catchers for this evening, which you can see by clicking on "Daily Fantasy Baseball Projections" link above. Plus his price is reasonable as he is outside the top 5 most expensive catchers for Thurs.|
|Anthony Rizzo||1B||$4,900||$8,400||$3,700||LvR matchup vs COL RHP Chacin and the game is in Coors (If the 3:45 pm ET games are included in your slate of games).|
|Anthony Rizzo||1B||$5,000||$6,558||$3,700||Rizzo continues to put up All-Star type numbers, especially of late, as he has hit 10 of 13 home runs this season over his last 36 games (since April 30th) to go with seven doubles, and 26 RBI. In addition, his .406 on-base percentage this year is fifth best in the National League and sixth best overall (going into Wednesday night's game). In addition, Rizzo is 3-4 w/ 2 2B and a BB career vs RHP Volquez for whatever that is worth.|
|Jose Altuve||2B||$4,900||$7,350||$4,000||Spend up for this kid who is not only the hottest hitting 2B over the 7 days (tied for most hits over that span) with 4 SB in last 6 gaames but also leads the Majors in hits (88), tied for 2nd in multi-hit games (25), leads AL in SB (24), and has hit safely in 29 of his last 32 games whle batting .360 (50x139) over his last 32 gms.|
|Kyle Seager||3B||$3,800||$5,246||$3,100||All 9 HR vs RHP with 8 of them coming at home (maybe he can give Cano some hitting tips). Yangervis Solarte couple $100's cheaper if you need to save money and don't believe in SEA SP Ellias|
|Asdrubal Cabrera||SS||$4,400||$5,898||$2800||Asdrubal Cabrera who is swinging a hot bat for about a month now (see Tues. Playbook or click on his name) and is 7-for-21 (.333) in his career vs BOS SP Jon Lester.|
|Jose Reyes||SS||$5,000||$8,407||$3,600||$700-plus dollars cheaper than Tulo and Han Ram|
|Dexter Fowler||OF||$4,400||$6,166||$3,500||Leads AL with a .439 OBP since April 18th and hitting 45 pts higher from the right side at .316 and his 11 hits are tied for most in MLB among OF over last 7 days.|
|Carlos Gomez||OF||$5,100||$8,454||$4,800||Has reached base safely in 26 straight games|
|Melky Cabrera||OF||$4,500||$8,051||$3,200||Reasonably priced on DK and FD and has 11 best wOBA among AL OF vs RHP|
|David Peralta||OF||$3,700||$4,557||$3,100||Little pricey on DK but presents decent value on DS and FD. You get LvR matchup vs HOU RHP Feldman and Peralta is hitting .310 (9-29) w/ HR and 2 2B|
|James Jones||OF||$3,300||$4,857||$2,700||LvR matchup vs NYY RHP Whitley LHH's own a .426 SLG and .752 OPS vs Whitley this season, plus Jones his hitting .308 (8-for-26) over last six games|
