Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant

The Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant provides you daily recommendations in a four tiered format, with specific targets for GPP tournaments (Guaranteed Prize Payout tournaments) and players that may be more geared towards Double Up (DU) contests because their is less risk involved with them. Just because one player is marked for a GPP or DU it does not mean they are only worth playing in said format, just that I like them in that type of format a little more. (All prices and point projections are geared towards DraftStreet).

A-All Star priced players that should put up All Star stats today (target 35+ FP, $16,000-on up).

Al Jefferson (18.6%) failed to reach 40 FP for the first time in three games, blame that on the matchup versus the Grizzles Saturday. Tonight he and the Bobcats get a Nuggets team that are allowing the third most points per game to opponents on the season, fifth most points in the paint on the season, but second most points in the paint over the last three games.

Carmelo Anthony (19.9%) is third on DraftStreet in FP/game on the season, he leads the NBA in points per game and should have no trouble dropping bombs on the worst defense in the league tonight in the 76ers (110.9 per game to opponents three more then the next closest team, the Lakers).

B-rated Ballers: Big name players with big games, but not as high of a price tag as the top five or so priced players at each position (around 30 FP, $13,000-$16,000).

Gordon Hayward (14.3%) is second only to DeMar DeRozan in minutes played among shooting guards this season. The White wonder has the fourth highest fantasy point per minute production of the fantasy relevant shooting guards behind Gerald Green, Darren Collison, and Dwayne Wade, but only Collison is cheaper of the four players than Hayward, so you are getting more bang for your buck with the Butler alum.

Kyle Lowry (15%) is coming off a 50 burger yesterday against the TWolves, is averaging around 33 FP in three games versus the Nets this season, including dropping a 55 FP Raptor squall on the Nets in their last meeting and Lowry is actually shooting better when he plays on the road then at home.

C-as in players that COULD be in line to provide you with good to great value in the mid-tier price range (target 25+ FP, $10,000-$13,000).

Wilson Chandler (12%) has been around 25 FP or more in each of his last four games, has scored in double-figures in each of his last five games, and is facing a Bobcats team that is allowing the fourth most points per game to opposing small forwards over the last 15 days. (If you wanted to save about $2K at this position you could consider P.J. Tucker for the reason outlined in the write up on Darren Collison).

Darren Collison (11.5%) Jamal Crawford will not play today so more minutes for Collison again, and as I mentioned above when discussing Hayward, Collision is the cheapest of the top four producing shooting guards based on FP/game going today. In addition, Vegas sees this game as the highest scoring contest, by far, tonight with an over/under of 218.5 (I have even seen it as high as 222).

D-Discounted Dandies: Players on the cheap whose production may exceed what their discounted price tag suggests. (Double Digit Fantasy Production, $3,500-$10,000).

Chris Douglas-Roberts (8.2%) is averaging a respectable 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals in his three most recent starts with two of those games coming against two of the better defensive teams in the league in the Pacers and the Grizzlies and tonight's matchup is against a Denver team that are allowing the fourth most points per game to opponents on the season so CDR should be able to provide value again tonight. (A sneak discounted option could be Knicks center Jeremy Tyler with Tyson Chandler ruled out tonight vs the 76ers).

James Anderson (8.6%) has exceeded 20 FP in each of his last two games and is facing a Knicks team tonight that are allowing the fourth most points per game and fifth most fantasy points per game over the last 15 days to opposing shooting guards. The key here, besides the matchup, is that Anderson has seen 26-plus minutes in each of his last 10 games.

Best of Luck tonight and don’t be afraid to go rouge and post your questions in the comments section and/or send me a tweet @FantasyNomad. Also, be sure to check out this morning's Daily Dribble for more DFS insight.
