Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant

The Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant provides you daily recommendations in a four tiered format, with specific targets for GPP tournaments (Guaranteed Prize Payout tournaments) and players that may be more geared towards Double Up (DU) contests because their is less risk involved with them. Just because one player is marked for a GPP or DU it does not mean they are only worth playing in said format, just that I like them in that type of format a little more. (All prices are according to DraftStreet).

A-All Star priced players that should put up All Star stats today (target 35+ FP, $16,000-on up).

DeMar DeRozan (17.3%) the trade of Rudy Gay paid huge dividends for DeRozan, who now has become one of the more dangerous scoring shooting guards in the league as he ranks inside the top 10 among both guard positions in consisentcy rating. Add in that the Kings, the Raptors opponnent this evening, are allowing the most fantasy points to the shooting position over the last 15 days, in case you needed more convincing.

Anthony Davis gets a Bucks team that blows, in case you have not noticed, and Davis is averaging more than seven fantasy points at home than on the road at 41-plus FP. (I also like Al Jefferson, Ty Lawson, and Rudy Gay. Check out today's Daily Dribble for more insight as to why).

B-rated Ballers: Big name players with big games, but not as high of a price tag as the top five or so priced players at each position (around 30 FP, $13,000-$16,000).

Kemba Walker is averaging over 30 FP in two games against the Cavs this season and tonight's game is in Charolotte where Walker is averaging about five more fantasy points per game than on the road at 30.

David Lee is getting back to his double-double ways as he has posted two in his last three games and should have no trouble doing it against Mike Scott and the Hawks who we all saw get waxed by the Blazers the other night.

C-as in players that COULD be in line to provide you with good to great value in the mid-tier price range (target 25+ FP, $10,000-$13,000).

Kent Bazemore (11%) has become one of just two Lakers (Pau Gasol being the other one, who is also in play tonight even though I did not list him above), who have provided consistent production recently for the sLa(c)kers. Since moving into the starting lineup, Bazemore is averaging 16.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.6 blocks, and a usage rating of 23.8% in 32.6 minutes per game (seven starts). This game will be up and down and should provide plenty of opportunties for Bazemore to extend his double-digit scoring streak to nine games.

Kenneth Faried (12.7%) and the Nuggets take on a Lakers team that are last, or near last, in almost every defensive category and in opponents rebounding rate, so not only is Faried in play but so to is pretty much every Nugget player (check out today’s Daily Dribble for some interesting insight on Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler). Faried is averaging about 35 FP in two games against the Lakers this season, so you know I'll be unleashing the Manimal in my lineups tonight.

D-Discounted Dandies: Players on the cheap whose production may exceed what their discounted price tag suggests. (Double Digit Fantasy Production, $3,500-$10,000).

Kelly Olynyk (8.9%) The Nets are allowing the fifth most points per game over the last five days to opposing centers and Olynyk has shown us, despite the long girly hair, that he has found his man jingles as he is no longer afraid to shoot the damn ball (double-digit shot attempts in back-to-back games with a FG% over 50 in each game).

Jeff Adrien (8.2%) is quietly having a positive impact since joining his new team. Adrien has reached double-digit rebounds in four of his first five games with his new team and is averaging 5.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and an assist in 19.6 minutes per game over that span. With this type of production, and Ersan Ilyasova suspended for tonight's game, it seems like a safe bet that Adrien will see at least 25 minutes.

John Henson (8.6%) will get the start tonight with the recent news of Ersan Ilyasova being handed down a one-game suspension for punching Kings Reggie Evans on Wednesday. Henson, at this price, should have no problem reaching value, especially on DFS that give nice bonuses for blocked shots. Henson's opponent, the Pelicans, have had a difficult time defending opposing power forwards this season as they are allowing the 5th most fantasy points to the position on the season.

Best of Luck tonight and don’t be afraid to go rouge and post your thoughts and questions in the comments section and/or send me a tweet @FantasyNomad. Also, be sure to check out this morning's Daily Dribble for more DFS insight.
