Fantasy Basketball Daily League Picks 3/01/14
Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant
The Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant provides you daily recommendations in a four tiered format, with specific targets for GPP tournaments (Guaranteed Prize Payout tournaments) and separate players that may be more geared towards Double Up (DU) contests. It does not mean they are only worth playing in said format, just that I like them in that type of format a little more. (Since there are only five games this evening will skip separating the picks into GPP/DU segments and just provide you with some players that have the potential to meet or exceed their value tonight).
A-All Star priced players that should put up All Star stats today (target 35+ FP, $16,000-on up).
John Wall (19.4%) the Sixers are allowing the most fantasy points to point guards on the season, are allowing a league high 110.9 points per game as a team, and Wall has been waxin everyone of late as he has exceeded 30 FP in each of his last seven games and has reached 40 or more FP in four of those games, including his last two contests granted one went to triple OT.
B-rated Ballers: Big name players with big games, but not as high of a price tag as the top five or so priced players at each position (around 30 FP, $13,000-$16,000).
Robin Lopez (14%) went for over 37 FP two days ago against the Nuggets who are one of the worst interior defending teams and are allowing opponents to rebound at the sixth highest rate in the league this season. (I like RLo a little more on some other sites than DS where his price tag is a little cheaper, but if Aldridge is out then the price is a moot point).
Trevor Ariza (13.6%) I like Ariza for many of the same reasons I like John Wall this evening. The Sixers are allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing small forwards over the last 15 days a slight improvement from the league worst average they own for the season, but no where near a reason to be scared off of Ariza, obviously.
C-as in players that COULD be in line to provide you with good to great value in the mid-tier price range (target 25+ FP, $8,000-$13,000).
Jordan Hamilton ( has posted 22.75 FP while playing 24 mpg in back-to-back games and now should get the start with Chandler Parsons ruled OUT for this evening's matchup against the Pistons.
Aaron Brooks (9.2%) see today’s Daily Dribble.
Bradley Beal (12.3%) scored over 40 FP in each of his last two games agasint Philly. (Be cautious of looking at Beal's average FP number as he failed to reach 20 FP when the two team's meet at the beginning of the season, but remember Beal was a little banged up and the Sixers were one of the hottest teams in the league). Again, if a player starts against the 76ers there is always the potential he could go for that many FP.
D-Discounted Dandies: Players on the cheap whose production may exceed what their discounted price tag suggests. (Double Digit Fantasy Production, $3,500-$8,000).
Rodney Stuckey (7.5%) is starting to get the minutes 28.5 per game over his last two games and will be attempted to be guarded by one of the worst shooting guard defenders in the NBA in James Harden this evening. Stuckey’s stock rises even more if Brandon Jennings does not play. Update: Brandon Jennings IS playing tonight.
Mason Plumlee (8%) will get the start in place of Kevin Garnett who will get the night off. Plum dog finished with over 26 FP in the Nets last game, which was on the road in Denver. He and the Nets get an even better matchup tonight against the 11-46 Bucks, so the potential for a similar performance as the one Plumlee pulled out against the Pelicans on the 9th of February (44.75 FP) does not seem out of the realm of possibilities.
Best of Luck tonight and don’t be afraid to go rouge and post your questions in the comments section and/or send me a tweet @FantasyNomad. Also, be sure to check out this morning's Daily Dribble for more DFS insight.
