Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant

The Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant provides you daily recommendations in a four tiered format, with specific targets for GPP tournaments (Guaranteed Prize Payout tournaments) and separate players that may be more geared towards Double Up (DU) contests. It does not mean they are only worth playing in said format, just that I like them in that type of format a little more. (Since there are only five games this evening will skip seperating the picks into GPP/DU segments and just provide you with some players that have the potential to meet or exceed their value tonight).

Daily Dandies

For those of you checking out my recommendations for the first time, I group the players in A,B,C,D Tiers as a play on the old A,B,C,D basketball camps and as an easy way to distinguish player tiers. (All prices are according to Draft Street). If you have any specific questions post them in the comments section and I will answer them asap or send me a tweet by clicking on my twitter handle at the top of this article. To see who is starting each night visit our NBA Lineups Page

A-All Star priced players that should put up All Star stats today (target 35+ FP, $16,000-on up).

GPP

Paul Millsap (17.6%) is facing one of the worst defenses in the league in the 76ers and he has exceeded 32 FP in each of his last five games.

DU

Al Jefferson (19.3%) Big Al should again come up big against a Lakers team that are allowing the most points in the paint and are allowing the second most points per games to opponents on the season.

B-rated Ballers: Big name players with big games, but not as high of a price tag as the top five or so priced players at each position (around 30 FP, $12,000-$16,000).

GPP

Monta Ellis (12.8%) burned me the other day, but I believe in the ‘baller bounce back theory’ where an all-star caliber player struggles in a previous game only to bounce back the following game. The bonus, if you buy into this theory, is that Ellis’ ownership may be less than expected because he is coming off a disappointing game and the matchup is enticing as the Kings are allowing the ninth most FP to opposing shooting guards the last 15 days.

David Lee (14.4%) continues to pile up the double-doubles as he posted his 25th of the season last night against the Clippers. Lee has exceeded 30-plus FP in five of his last six. I like Lee as a GPP option tonight as some owners may shy away from him as it is his second game in as many nights, but I’m disregarding that in favor of the matchup. The Warriors are playing a Jazz team.

DU

Marc Gasol (13.1%) should feast on the TWolves with Nikoa Pekovc out. Minnesota is allowing the fifth most points in the paint this season, and again it should be even easier for Gasol and Zach Randolph to dominate the interior with Pek sidelined.

C-as in players that COULD be in line to provide you with good to great value in the mid-tier price range (target 25+ FP, $8,000-$12,000).

GPP

Ersan Ilyasova (8.5%) play has improved of late and he has taken 52 shots over his last three games. I’ll roll the dice a player, at this price, who is putting up this type of volume, not to mention it is against the Magic who are one of the worst team’s in the NBA. (John Henson has been ruled out tonight, so that should mean more minutes for Ilyasova).

DU

Jonas Valanciunas (10.5%) the Nuggets are the sixth most points in the paint this season and the fifth most FP to centers over the last 15 days.

D-Discounted Dandies: Players on the cheap whose production may exceed what their discounted price tag suggests. (Double Digit Fantasy Production, $3,500-$8,000).

GPP

Jae Crowder (5.4%) is starting in place of the injured Shawn Marion and is facing the worst team in the Western Conference in the Sacramento Kings who are allowing the third most points to opponents per game this season and are the second worst road defensive team on the year.

DU

Evan Fournier (8%) should see a spike in minutes with Nate Robinson out and Ty Lawson a game-time decision. If Lawson does not play then Fournier is expected to start along side Randy Foye.

Best of Luck tonight and don’t be afraid to go rouge and post your questions in the comments section and/or send me a tweet @FantasyNomad. Also, be sure to check out this morning's Daily Dribble for more DFS insight.
