I know in both of my fantasy basketball league I'm gaining momentum and loving every minute of it. I picked up some second string players who were getting action while they cover a fallen player (due to injury). There is no commitment when making one of these type of moves, as soon as the number one payer returns you can just break up with this player and put him back on the waiver-wire for someone else to enjoy. Let's just call it a “fling.” A fling is usually with someone you really don’t see yourself with long-term, but they may bring something to the table that you need at the moment. For me, my fling was based around rebounds, and that need brought me to the Washington Wizards' Kris Humphries while he was covering for Nene who had been missing time with a foot issue (he's since returned to play limited minutes for the Wizards in their last two games).

It's all about minutes when it comes to Humphries production. With Nene sidelined we've seen Humphries add about five minutes to his per game output (an average of about 25 minutes a game from November 25th to December 3rd), a pace he has been able to keep the last two outings even with Nene back on the court making my pick up was a win. Can he keep up that minutes played pace? More on that in a moment.

I attended the Wizards vs. Lakers matchup in D.C. last week and was able to witness Humphries stack the stat column I needed most - rebounds. That night, Humphries had 20 rebounds and on Sunday against the Celtics he landed another 14 boards. What a fulfilling fling this has been. Don’t worry I'm not getting attached as I know that now Nene has returned that it might be difficult for Humphries to push 30 minutes a night so we might be considering a break up in the near future.

As for my  personal teams momentum, do you remember one of my first articles where I was in last place in the Fantasy Alarm League? Well guess what people, I am now in third place, only four points behind the first place spot. Lets see if my momentum can push me all the way to the “money shot” of first place.
