Since the Mariners/Cubs have an early game today, our main slate will feature 14-games with a roster lock of 7:07 PM ET.

We were able to avoid some major storms last night, and it does look like it’ll be fine again tonight, but there are definitely some clouds lingering in a few spots, so you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on the weather as we get closer to roster lock.

Outside of Max Scherzer, we do not have many big name/high dollar pitchers, so there should be many different ways to pay up for the hitters that you want in your lineup.

Brian McCann is tonight’s BvP king, and rightfully so, considering he has slashed Jake Odorizzi to the tune of .522/.577/1.130 with three homers, a triple, three doubles, and 10 RBIs over 26 career plate appearances.

Wilson Ramos has gone 4-for-11 (.364 AVG) with two homers throughout his career against Jeff Samardzija

Evan Gattis now has four homers over his last four games. Simply put, if he gets decent contact with the ball, there’s a pretty good chance the ball is leaving the park.

Welington Castillo is finally showing signs of life. Over his last three starts, he has gone 4-for-12 (.333 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, and five RBIs.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia rarely gets much love from me, considering we’re usually playing V-Mart over him on FanDuel, but I love his matchup against Collin McHugh, who he has gone 2-for-3 (.667 AVG) with a homer and a double in limited action against in the past.

Joey Votto has batted .409/.480/.864 with two homers and four doubles throughout his career against Edwin Jackson. He is now in the middle of a 12-game hitting streak, and is looking more like the Joey Votto that was oh so consistent last season.

Hanley Ramirez costed his Red Sox the game last night thanks to a horrible throw on a Daniel Nava groundball in the bottom of the 9th. What would be better to redeem himself than having a big night at the plate? He has gone a solid 9-for-27 (.333 AVG) with a homer, lifetime, against the former Giant, Tim Lincecum

Miguel Cabrera is 14-for-31 (.452 AVG) with three homers, two doubles, seven walks, and seven RBIs over his last nine games.

Jose Abreu happens to be just $2700 tonight on FanDuel. It’s not like he’s on a cold spell either, he has actually gone 10-for-28 (.357 AVG) over his last eight games.

Mitch Moreland, I promise you, isn’t here because we want to chase his double dong night. He matches up incredibly well against Edinson Volquez, who has a unique repertoire that features a sinker and a knucklecurve. Moreland has actually homered off of Volquez in the past and is a great value tonight.

Jean Segura now has a 10-game hitting streak, where he has gone 17-for-40 (.425 AVG) with a homer, three doubles, eight runs, three RBIs, and two stolen bases.

Daniel Murphy is 5-for-9 (.556 AVG) with a homer, double, and three RBIs, lifetime, against Jeff Samardzija of the Giants.

Rougned Odor’s has had a very solid last 10 games. He has gone 14-for-40 (.350 AVG) with three homers, six RBIs, and three stolen bases over those last 10 games, and matches up well against Edinson Volquez

Brian Dozier has been a bit of a mixed bag throughout his career against Jose Quintana, but he does have four homers against the White Sox southpaw. Keep in mind, he’s batting .308/.402/.679 with seven homers in just 78 at-bats against lefties this season.

Brandon Phillips probably has the quietest 15-game hitting streak in all of baseball, including the minors, NCAA, and little league. Still, his matchup is pretty darn good against Edwin Jackson, and he’s only $2500 on FanDuel.

Josh Donaldson has been batting .300/.400/.550 with three homers over his last 15 games. Price is usually a deterrent, so you can generally expect low ownership when you pull the trigger on Donaldson.

Evan Longoria is 10-for-36 (.278 AVG) with three homers and seven RBIs throughout his career against Ivan Nova, and has four homers and 10 RBIs over his last 10 games.

Nolan Arenado is a RIDONKULOUS $3000 on FanDuel. No matter what anyone says, Steven Matz is not an ace, and the Rockies should not be getting the ace pitcher treatment on FanDuel. Matz is also a sinkerball pitcher, and Arenado has crushed the sinker throughout his career.

Aaron Hill will be another BvP special as long as he gets the start tonight against Tim Lincecum of the Angels. Hill has gone 11-for-22 (.500 AVG) against Lincecum in their previous meetings.

Jose Ramirez’s best pitch to hit against this season has been the sinker, and that is a pitch that Kendall Graveman happens to throw over 50 percent of the time.

Jonathan Villar is batting .327/.424/.486 with three homers and 14 stolen bases against southpaws this season.

Trea Turner, I must repeat, is the real deal. Over his last 10 games, he has gone 14-for-44 (.318 AVG) with three triples, two doubles, seven runs, seven RBIs, and six stolen bases.

Trevor Story is another Rockies bat that is getting the major salary deflation on FanDuel. Regardless, he matches up quite well against Steven Matz, and has been the best Rockies hitter in the month of July.

Troy Tulowitzki disappointed many when he went 0-for-5 Tuesday night against the Padres, but he was still in the best run of his season. In fact, over his last 30 games, he has batted .300/.338/.542 with eight of his 16 home runs this season.

Jose Iglesias is now working on a 7-game hitting streak, and is getting regular playing time batting from the 2-hole behind Ian Kinsler and in front of Miguel Cabrera

Ryan Braun is batting .315/.403/.426 with two homers over his last 15 games. He’s locked in and as long as he’s in the lineup, should be strongly considered.

Jay Bruce’s trade value is at all all-time high. The long-time Red has a 9-game hitting streak, and has homered six times in his last five games. Of course, he gets an amazing matchup against Edwin Jackson to see if he can keep this going.

George Springer had a rough go in the last two games against the Yankees, going 0-for-8 with a walk. Still, in his seven previous games, he had gone 10-for-29 (.345 AVG) with two homers, three doubles, four walks, eight runs, and eight RBIs.

Gregory Polanco has gone 8-for-19 (.421 AVG) with a homer, double, two walks, four runs, three RBIs, and a stolen base over his last five games.

Michael Saunders and the rest of the Blue Jays outfield are at a very reasonable price point on DraftKings. He has reached base safely in seven consecutive games and actually homered against Kevin Gausman earlier this season.

Marcell Ozuna is the best sinkerball hitter on the Marlins roster and he is actually at a reasonable price point going up against Mike Leake, who throws the sinker roughly 51 percent of the time.

Billy Hamilton will be one of my preferred plays tonight in all formats. The kid has been amazing lately, and has scored 12+ FanDuel points in six of his last  10 and has stolen 11 bases in his last 10.

Curtis Granderson matches up well against Tyler Chatwood, and is usually going to be a viable option against right-handed pitching. $3200 on FanDuel and $3900 on DraftKings isn’t too bad of a price given his power upside.

Melky Cabrera has a nice little run going here and actually has a great history against Ricky Nolasco, going 11-for-25 (.440 AVG) with a homer.

Adam Duvall is my least favorite of the Reds outfield trio tonight, but he’s also the most affordable on FanDuel. He is just two games removed from his double dong outing against his former mates in San Francisco, and makes his return to San Diego, where he showed everyone that his power is legit at the Home Run Derby.

Stephen Piscotty gets a good matchup against Jose Urena of the Marlins. Piscotty has hit a rough patch, but it has helped bring his salary down to a very affordable $3000 on FanDuel.

Kole Calhoun has gone 5-for-8 (.625 AVG) with two home runs in his previous meetings against Rick Porcello

Colby Rasmus usually wouldn’t be featured here against the lefty, but he has seen six pitches, swung two times, and has homered in each of those two swings against Matt Boyd of the Tigers. Generally going to be more of a GPP play though, but he’s cheap enough to take a gamble on in cash.

Lonnie Chisenhall is probably not a better play than Tyler Naquin if salaries weren’t being considered. Nevertheless, since salaries do matter, he’s just an immensely better value than Naquin, and could provide some salary relief, especially on FanDuel or Aces.

Alex Gordon is batting .857/.875/1.429 with a homer and a double over eight career plate appearances against A.J. Griffin of the Rangers.

Aaron Altherr came into this season as one of the hottest young names in the Majors, but suffered a huge injury that cut his season in half during the spring. He came in with a bang last night, going 3-for-4 with a homer, and is a great value throughout the industry.

Joey Gallo will be a pure punt play if he gets another start. He is very much so a boom or bust play because he just doesn’t hit for a good average, but he may have an argument for having the most power in the Rangers organization. Can’t complain with the price, especially on FanDuel, at a minimum price.
