It’s another week in DFS MLB and tonight brings us a Monday edition of DFS featuring an 11-game slate.
Fortunately, we are finished with the latest Coors homestand. But unfortunately, we may have to deal with some more weather issues. Some showers in the northeast may cause issues in Baltimore and Boston. Still, I do think the games will play, but we’ll have to wait and see the updated forecasts as we get closer to roster lock.
Once again, players are organized at each position from highest to lowest salary using FanDuel pricing.

Jonathan Lucroy gets a favorable matchup against Braden Shipley who will be making his major league debut tonight. It’s always tough to judge a player who has limited statistics available against Major League talent, but it should be noted that Shipley allowed a .294 AVG against right-handed hitters in Triple A-Reno.
Nick Hundley has a career .480 wOBA over 10 career plate appearances against Yovani Gallardo. Also just went 5-for-11 (.455 AVG) with two doubles in the last series against the Braves.
Evan Gattis is coming off of a great weekend against the Angels, hitting three homers over his last two games, and has gone 9-for-27 (.333 AVG) over his last seven games.
Jett Bandy, somehow, has been the Angels most productive catcher this season. Over his last seven games, he has gone 7-for-23 (.304 AVG) with two homers and five RBIs.

David Ortiz is 11-for-29 (.379 AVG) with two homers and four doubles in his career against Justin Verlander. He has also broken out of a mini slump in the current homestand, going 8-for-19 (.421 AVG) with two homers and nine RBIs.
Anthony Rizzo is batting .311/.358/.672 with four homers and 14 RBIs over his last 15 games.
Miguel Cabrera closed out the latest series against the White Sox with a rough 0-for-6, but that’s okay considering he started the series going 6-for-7 (.857 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, and three RBIs. While Muggy has never faced Drew Pomeranz in his career, I feel the matchup is great from a PITCHf/x standpoint. Pomeranz mainly relies on his good knucklecurve and four-seam fastball, and those are two pitches that Muggy has hit well against throughout his career.
Kendrys Morales has been at his best this season when facing left-handed pitchers. He is batting .318/.366/.576 with six homers in just 85 at-bats against southpaws this season.
James Loney is a great value play on an nightly basis, and he’s only $2700 on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. I like the matchup against Carlos Martinez, and I like that he has an 8-game hitting streak and bringing the Mets some consistency from first base.

Jean Segura makes his return to Miller Park with a great matchup against Chase Anderson who he has gone 3-for-6 (.500 AVG) with a triple and a double against throughout his career.
Jose Altuve will hopefully have low ownership tonight consider he is only 2-for-8 throughout his career against Michael Pineda. I really think he matches up better against Pineda than the numbers suggest, and is a better play on FanDuel tonight at just $3600.
Dustin Pedroia has a terrible history against Justin Verlander, but I don’t mind his price throughout the industry, and is coming off of an outstanding 4-game series against the Twins, going 10-for-18 (.556 AVG) with a homer, three doubles, and seven runs scored.
Brandon Phillips really looks like he’s starting to turn his season around, yet he’s dirt cheap throughout the industry. He has a 12-game hitting streak where he has gone 16-for-45 (.356 AVG) with three doubles and six RBIs.

Manny Machado now has a 4-game hitting streak where he has one 6-for-13 (.462 AVG) with a homer, three walks, four runs, and two RBIs.
Adrian Beltre is a much better player at home where he has batted .290/.369/.426 this season. Matches up quite well against Daniel Mengden of the A’s.
Cheslor Cuthbert has quietly been batting .370/.400/.611 with two homers and 12 RBIs over his last 15 games.
Jose Reyes is a great value throughout the industry and has reached base safely in each of his last eight games. Throughout the eight games, he has also tripled and doubled twice while stealing three bases.

Trevor Story is breaking records left and right and is coming off of four home runs in his last three games, but his price dropped significantly because of the lack of Coors Field on FanDuel.
Carlos Correa has just destroyed Michael Pineda in his previous meetings, going 5-for-6 (.833 AVG) with two homers, two doubles, and four runs.
Brandon Crawford has a .363 OBP and 120 wRC+ at home in AT&T Park this season.
Tim Anderson will be a great value play tonight at just $2200 on FanDuel and $3300 on DraftKings. He has cooled off a bit, but is still holding his own at the plate. He has also shown very good promise against sinkerball pitchers, and Jake Arrieta throws his version of the sinker roughly 45 percent of the time.

Ryan Braun gets that same matchup against Braden Shipley who struggles against righties. Braun has a 9-game hitting streak where he has gone 13-for-35 (.371 AVG) with a homer, triple, double, 12 runs, four walks, and four steals.
Christian Yelich may be the hottest hitter in baseball. He is currently in the middle of an 11-game hitting streak while going 19-for-47 (.404 AVG) with three homers, three doubles, and 10 RBIs.
Michael Saunders hit three homers in the three game series against the Mariners this past weekend. Like all of the other Blue Jays, he doesn’t have a history against Colin Rea, but I do think the matchup is favorable for Captain Canada.
Carlos Gonzalez has a 6-game hitting streak, going 7-for-20 (.350 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, four walks, six runs, and five RBIs. Also has a .476 wOBA throughout his career against Yovani Gallardo.
Carlos Beltran is batting .417/.462/.750 with a homer, double, and two RBIs, lifetime, against Dallas Keuchel of the Astros.
Yoenis Cespedes, according to PITCHf/x, is an above-average value against each of the pitches within Carlos Martinez’s repertoire. In just three plate appearances, he has gone 2-for-3 with a home run against the Cardinals righty. His best value is on DraftKings at just $3900.
Adam Duvall makes his return to San Francisco and gets a solid matchup against Jake Peavy, who he has homered against earlier this season.
Mark Trumbo hit his 30th home run of the season on Saturday against the Indians. I like his price point on FanDuel and his matchup against Jorge De La Rosa, who he hit two homers in just six career at-bats against, mostly from his time with the D-Backs.
Marcell Ozuna isn’t as good of a play as Christian Yelich if money wasn’t an object, but of course, money is always an object. He’s a much better value throughout the industry and still has a solid .486 wOBA against Jeremy Hellickson throughout his career.
Jackie Bradley Jr. is a very reasonable $3100 on FanDuel even though he has been extremely productive throughout the season. I don’t mind the matchup against Justin Verlander, and JBJ is 8-for-20 (.400 AVG) with a homer, three doubles, and five RBIs over this last five games.
Billy Hamilton deserves more credit for what he has been able to do lately. He has a 7-game hitting streak where he has combined for nine stolen bases. That has helped him accumulate over 12 FanDuel Points in five of those seven games.
Matt Kemp gets no respect from the FanDuel salary makers. The man has a 9-game hitting streak while homering six times in his last eight games. He has never faced Aaron Sanchez, but I truly think the matchup is favorable for Kemp. At $3000 on FanDuel, the risk is very minimal for the upside he brings on a nightly basis.
Nomar Mazara has a 6-game hitting streak where he has gone 9-for-22 (.409 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, and four RBIs.
Jake Smolinski is batting an outstanding .333 this season, but he also happens to be batting .380/.446/.760 with five of his six home runs against southpaws.
Preston Tucker has had a heck of a return to the Astros lineup, going a solid 3-for-8 (.375 AVG) with a homer, triple, double, and four runs.
