Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 3-22-14

One of the best ways to spend a Saturday is by playing some daily fantasy basketball. Below are players I like based on value, production, and matchups. The cheap plays are players who should exceed their value while not costing a lot, the mid-tier group are players that should produce big numbers while not breaking the bank, and the expensive players are high priced players who are worth every penny.

Cheap Plays

*Fantasy points (FP) and pricing are based on DraftStreets scoring system.

Matthew Dellavedova ($6,700) - The Cavaliers are completely injury riddled (feel like I have said that a lot recently, but it is true) so he will play a lot minutes, especially if this game becomes a blowout. He is averaging just over 21 FP in the past two games which would greatly exceed his valueas he only costs $6,700. If you are looking for an even cheaper option than go with Alonzo Gee whom is less than 6K and is averaging 18 FP in the last two games.

Kosta Koufos ($6,628)- Is a must start if Marc Gasol is out tonight because he will get plenty of playing time as the Grizzlies have no other true center besides Koufos. He is only $6,600 so he only needs 15 FP to exceed value, but should get over 20 if he starts for Gasol.

Ray Allen ($8,300)- Has been playing plenty of minutes( 28+ minutes in seven straight games) and producing plenty of fantasy points (24+ FP in three out of the past five games) for the Heat. Have a feeling one of the big three are not going to play tonight which opens up more shots for Jesus Shuttlesworth.

Mo Williams is another cheap play to target as is playing a lot of minutes and jacking up shots with Aldridge out. He is more of a GPP play as he is risky, but has a chance to boom for a big game.

Mid-Tier Value Plays

Zach Randolph ($13,848)- Z-Bo is going to have to put the team on his back with Marc Gasol injured. His price is just under 14K which is cheap for player that should get a monster double-double. Also, Mike Conley is a great play as he will have to shoot more and is always a good source for assists and steals. Randolph will be in all of my lineups tonight.

Kemba Walker ($13,993)- Always love to use Kemba when he plays at home as he averages just over 30 FP there. Portland is giving up 41 FP to opposing point guards in past 15 days which is ranked in the bottom third in the league. Another player that will be in my lineups tonight as he is consistent and always has a chance for a huge fantasy performance.

Taj Gibson/Jimmy Butler- The Bulls are playing the Sixers so there will be fantasy greatness all around. Butler has played 45 minutes in three straight games and produced 31 FP when they played Philly a few days ago. The Taj Mahal played 30 minutes ( 6 more than Boozer) and put up 17 shots in that meeting. Both players will exceed value and play plenty of minutes vs the craptastic Sixers.

Expensive plays

Blake Griffin ($19,929)- Has scored 42 plus FP in four out of the past five games. He gets a great match up tonight vs a Pistons team that has given up almost 47 FP per game to opposing PF in the past 15 days. He is the safest expensive play and has a chance to always boom for an epic game. Also, can't go wrong with CP3 tonight as he should also dominate the Pistons back court.

Stephen Curry ($18,661)-  This is a big game for the Warriors and Curry has been magnificent recently by producing 40 or more FP in three out of the past four games. He is going to be on fire, NBA Jam style, by torching the Spurs for a big fantasy game.

Al Jefferson makes for another great selection as the Blazers are going to be without LaMarcus Aldridge again and Robin Lopez can't hold Al-J.

Good luck. Feel free to comment below and/or ask me questions on twitter @Datrueguru.
