Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 3-16-14

Below are players I like based on value, production, and matchups. The cheap plays are players who should exceed their value while not costing a lot, the mid-tier group are players that should produce big numbers while not breaking the bank, and the expensive players are high priced players who are worth every penny.

Cheap Plays

* Fantasy Points (FP) are based on DraftKings scoring system.

Dorell Wright- Is a must start with,as long as he starts, with LaMarcus Aldridge out. Also, this is a revenge game for him as he used to PLAY FOR THE Warriors. His price is low on all sites and will easily exceed value.

Darren Collison- As long as Jamal Crawford is out than Collison will see the bulk of the minutes as he has played 40 plus minutes in three out of the past four games. He is cheap on all sites and will get close to 30 FP

Kris Humphries- Is a better play on DraftKings where his only $4,800. He posted 28 FP in only 23 minutes in the previous matchup vs New Orleans. He should reach that again which would be almost six times his value.

My half court heave is Andre Roberson, who is starting for the Thunder tonight, had 8 points and 7 rebounds in his last game. He is $4,565 on DraftStreet so he makes for a risky GPP play that could triple his value tonight.

Mid-Tier Value Plays

Kevin Martin- I’ve said it once, and I will say it again, “Man I love being a turtle!”..oh wait, that’s not it. It is the Sacramento Kings are one of the worst teams vs opposing shooting guards. Martin will light them up with his silky smooth jumper. It also helps that his price is low on most sites.

Monta Ellis- Gets to face the Thunder tonight, a team that is giving up 44 FP to opposing shooting guards in the past 15 days (worst in the NBA). He is a safe play that has the chance for a monster night and won’t hurt your budget.

Rudy Gay- It is always hard to trust him as he disappears some nights, but he has been awesome vs Minnesota this season. He is averaging 47 FP in two games vs them this season. I would play him in GPPs, but not sure I would play him in double ups.

Serge Ibaka- Tore Dallas up in their previous meeting by posting 43 FP in 36 minutes. Dallas is giving up 50 FP to opposing power forwards (2nd worst in the NBA). I expect Iblocka to have another great night vs the defenseless Mavericks.

Damian Lillard is another solid option tonight as he will be asked to do a lot more with LMA out. Also love Tyreke tonight as he is playing on another right now. He seems to be in every one of my lineups, especially on DraftKings, where he is a meager $6,400.

Expensive Plays

Chris Paul- My top play considering his cost and potential production. He put up 51 FP last time he faced Cleveland and will have another monster game tonight.

Stephen Curry- Finally seems to be over his thigh injury as he played more than 30 minutes on Friday and had 50 FP( had five straight games playing 30 minutes or less). He’s been unstoppable vs Portland this season by averaging 54 FP in two meetings.  Got to start him or CP3 tonight and depending on how much money you want to spend as CP3 will cost more, but Curry could out produce him tonight.

Of course Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, and Kevin Love are great plays, but their prices are very high. I would rank them as Anthony Davis, Kevin Love, then Durant based on price and production. Can’t go wrong with any one of these guys.

That’s all I got. Good luck and holler at me on twitter @datrueguru.
