Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays For 3-9-14

Its Sunday funday and what is more fun than some daily fantasy basketball? the answer is nothing. Below are players I like tonight based on value, production, and matchups. The cheap plays are players who should exceed their value while not costing a lot, the mid-tier group are players that should produce big numbers while not breaking the bank, and the expensive players are high priced players who are worth every penny.

Cheap Plays

* Fantasy Points (FP) are based on DraftKings scoring system.

Brian Roberts PG, NOP- Love his matchup vs Denver today. He is so cheap and is the starting PG for the Pelicans. His floor is 20 FP while his ceiling is 30 plus FP.

Greg Stiemsma C, NOP- If you are trying for a trick shot at center then he is your man. He has played 20 more more minutes in three out of the past four games. However, he will not reach more than 25 FP, but should exceed value.

Marcus Thornton SG, BKN - My favorite cheap play of the day. This is a revenge game as Thornton played over three seasons with the Kings. He is getting plenty of minutes ( has played less than 20 minutes only once since being traded to Brooklyn), he just has to make shots to be productive.

Patrick Beverley- The safest cheap play tonight because he is the starting PG for the rockets and the Blazers give up almost 42 FP to opposing point guards.

Mid-Tier Value Plays

Tyreke Evans SG/SF, NOP- Even though his price rose across the board, he is still a must-start tonight. He is playing major mintues for the Pelicans, has produced 40 plus FP in four straight games, oh and he obliterated Denver for 47.8 FP in only 32 minutes last time they played.

Kyle Lowry PG, Tor- His price has dropped as his production has dropped, but tonight will be a bounce back game for him. Minnesota is giving up 41.5 FP to opposing point guards this season and Lowry torched them for 43 last time he played them.

David West PF, Ind- The Mavericks are allowing the most FP to opposing power forwards in the past 15 days (50 FP). He doesn’t cost a lot and will greatly exceed value. Look West tonight for solid production.

Deron Williams and Monta Ellis both have great matchups and will not be on a lot of rosters. They will exceed value while not breaking the bank. Don’t be worried about Ellis’ matchup as he went off for 47 FP last time he faced the Pacers.

Expensive plays

LaMarcus Aldridge PF/C, Por- Finally looked like his old self by playing 37 minutes and producing 62 FP vs the Mavericks on Friday night. He has killed the Rockets this season by averaging a ridiculous 57 FP in three games vs them this season. He is my top play tonight as I will don't mind shelling out the big bucks for his production

Anthony Davis PF/C, NOP- Is another great play tonight as he will have a MONSTER game vs the weak Denver front court. Also, He is averaging 57.5 FP in his last two games. Pairing him and L.A. together is a recipe for success.

Think Ty Lawson is another great play tonight, but he is the second most expensive player on DraftStreet so I think he I overpriced there.

Feel confident in rolling with Dwight Howard tonight as he has owned the Trailblazers this season by averaging 53 FP vs them.

Good luck tonight!
